I actually based Mercy on a fairly popular MMA fighter, and I’m glad that no one has recognized her yet, even with the purples hair. 😀

“Flag football”? I don’t understand. Do you kick a flag around? Do you tie the flag to the ball? Why do you Americans keep bollocksing up our sport?
You’re thinking of the wrong football. Flag football is a variant of the ‘rugby variant with protective padding’ football, not the one where one uses their feet to move the ball. Tackling is replaced by grabbing a piece of cloth hanging out of a player’s back pocket to avoid injuries.
Ah, well then that makes more sense. Seems a silly game, but horses for courses.
And to the degree that I’m conversant with handegg, the Upstarts would seem like a good team selection. Krystin can be the Throwerback, since her right hand’s unaffected, speedy and athletic Sun and Sabrina can be the Catchers, and Brooke can be whatever it is you lot call the fat-arses who hurl themselves at each other in front of the Throwerback.
Jeez, I don’t know much about football other than the guys always want me to hike. It’s pretty cool how the boss can give you signals with a hand on your tush too. Why don’t they do that on TV? I don’t know. But I know more than you!

Perhaps Chloe de Sade, since she isn´t in Rival Angels for quite a while, maybe making a (very) short side step to MMA is an idea ;-). Although I hope she´ll be back in R.A. very soon :D!

Yeah it’s not, especially when there can’t be too many more in her bracket. It’s kind of like that old joke when the Soviets and the US were in a car race. At the end, the Russian radio announced their team came in 2nd. The US came in next to last….

Well, Mercy might regret those words, because if memory serves there’s at least one upstart who went to college on a rugby scholarship or something like that. Well, if Krystin can swallow her pride long enough to ask Sabrina to be on the team, that is.

This whole thing is an odd distraction. But I suppose it will be a good way to get the Upstarts unified by acting as team. Kinda like what Spartacus did in the Monsters episode. He had members of the rebels who hated each other team up for sparring fights.
Still, you get 8 women on the field with that much ego and that much training, it won’t stay flag football for long.

Flag football? Since this is Chicago, there will be a noticeable lack of SEC speed in this game. Unless Ultrawinger (who couldn’t hack it at Penn State) was suddenly born in the sugar cane fields of Florida.
I just have to mention one other thing: My god, that’s the sleaziest grin I’ve ever seen on anyone in that final panel. Talk about staying classy, Topher.
