Chapter: Chapter 19 - The Big Night
Characters: Chloe De Sade, Sabrina Mancini
Sabrina’s got a De Sade’s ‘toy.’ What will she do with it first? Violent plans bring violent use! Sabrina’s not giving De Sade any breathing room which is what the rookie needs to do if she wants to win this match. De Sade is dangerous with or without a weapon which Sabrina will be wise not to forget.
The name of Sabrina’s Thunder Drop was inspired by the video game, InFamous, the move was inspired by Jeff Hardy!

What will she do with it? I’d break it into at least four pieces and then throw it outside the cage.

Well that’ll turn the tables.

If she takes out the face then in the next match Chloe will have to wear a cool mask.
Then she could be the leuttess in the iron mask. That and some curves would be an improvement.
This is what happens when you underestimate your opponent. With Chloe’s attitiude, I’m sure she thought she was just going to breeze through an already weakened Sabrina and end the match without breaking a sweat. Now she’s learning the hard way why exactly it is the Commish called her up from developmentals in the first place. Sabrina needs to be careful, though. Things seem to be going her way at the moment, but she can’t afford to get complacent. If she does, it’s then that the snake in the grass De Sade will strike and take control of the match
There’s bound to be some back-and-forth – wouldn’t be much of a PPV co-main-event slash chapter-climax match if Sabrina stomped all over her without opposition – but Sabrina’s on the right track. Keeping Chloe on the defensive and softening her up, taking the early advantage. I’m sure Chloe will pull out a trick and have her time on top – if I’ve got a feel for Albone’s storytelling properly, it’ll come in the next comic, toward the middle, or, even better, the last panel – but it’s a fantastic start, battering Chloe down so that she’s not fighting at 100%.
seeing how chloe’s already down on her knees i foresee some cowardly heel backwards crawling (til she hits the ropes aka .5 seconds) off and extending the hand for a handshake promising to to make a fresh start and be BFFs and then at somepoint during all this Brina clocks her with the stick.
Chloe’s expressions in the last three panels are great! The last one is the essence of “Uh Oh!”
If I could whisper in Chloe ear’s ear, I’d say, “Doctor Frankenstein, say hello to your Monster.”
May the beat down begin. GREAT page De Sade is in trouble and she bloody well knows it over rated talentless hack, meet real wrestler with talent with a kendo stick, that you brought into the match because your stupid.
I’m betting Sabrina will either throw the shinai over the rim of the cage, or give Chloe a few whacks then lose it. I like Sabrina, but she doesn’t seem the hardcore type to me.
Honestly, it’s a fun toy to bruise and scare people with, but if she wants to put a serious hurt on Chloe, throwing it out and putting her weight behind some serious stomping would be a better bet.

Snowy, I think this will turn into dueling chainsaws, a bit like the big fight in Star Wars episode 1.

Well said, Donny. Chloe figured she’d just walk in and wail on a wilting Sabrina. Right now, it’s still a bit of a tossup, but obviously Sabrina’s looking pretty good. XD Gabrielle is definitely feeling pretty vindicated.
jpiv, that is the classic execution of this situation. Can you imagine for an instant, Sabrina and Chloe shaking hands?

Sabrina went for a STOMP! The purest expression of effectively applied violence! Should’ve used the rib cage as a trampoline for a bit before going for a huge vertical drop, but still, she’s got the idea. Oh, Sabrina’s making me very, very happy with this match. I like her a lot!
And then there was Chloe’s completely undignified scramble for a weapon to defend herself, and Sabrina snatching it out of her hands as if Chloe was a naughty child. Priceless. Sabrina is totally in control right now, and her aggression is paying off big time.
As for De Sade, even her supporters would have a hard time calling this performance “elegant.”

You know early on I tried to get Chloe into the suwari waza, but she was too proud to get on her knees. Then. How the times do change! 😀

Or, y’know, let you keep your weapon and counterattack when somebody tries to yank it out of your hands. Just sayin’. 😀
I’m not a swordsman at all – haven’t gotten in any training time with my fencer/kenjutsu student friend/eternal rival – but I’ve got enough practice with a shinai that if someone tried to snatch it from me like Sabrina just did to Chloe, the tip ends up against their throat. If you’re going to bring a weapon, have some training in its basics. Brass knuckles would’ve been a much better bet for Chloe.
Although, given Sabrina’s offensive, Chloe might’ve just lost those, too, and current Sabrina with brass knuckles would mess Chloe up BAD.

talking about in general brenda I think Chloes the type whose too arogant to actually practice. Anywho its a stick you wack her upside the head with it till she’s concussed.
If Sabrina has the common sense of a biscuit, she’ll toss that thing out of the cage. The fewer weapons Chloe has access to, the quicker she’ll lose. Unless she’s actually a good wrestler, but I haven’t noticed her win anything without props.
DragonMan, I’m so happy that you are enjoying Sabrina’s modest success so far! If it helps, you can imagine that she used Chloe’s tummy as a trampoline to spring into the air. XD

Unless Brina takes each weapon in turn and beats her with it, also earlier reread through the archives to me it seems like De Sade is a total coward. She either ambushes someone, or hits them when they are down the minute they start fighting back she runs.
