Well it looks like we will be literally ending the year with a lose or win when Friday comes around and it can not get here sooner. Is it just me or is that a “show boat” like pin from Ms Smith? I would think twice in giving an opponent leverage like that who already attempt a tri-angle choke, but that is depending on Sabrina kicking out.
That’s definitely not a taunting pin. That’s called a prawn hold and it commonly shows up after a move like Kat’s powerbomb. It’s not giving Sabrina much in the way of leverage. From there, Sabrina pretty much has to lift all of Kat’s weight off her arms without being able to kick her legs to get a shoulder up.
Actually, Chris… she just has to explode up from her shoulders enough to turn sideways. That would break the count.
Yeah, I know, it’s just definitely not an easy feat to acomplish when Kat has her all folded up and on top of her.
Well, since you’re not offering a preview for the voting commission, my guess is that Sabrina COULD kick out. But what if she did? How would she cope with Kat? Guess we’ll just have to wait.
Dammit.
The match won’t end Friday, guys. Mo Chen no like being the bearer of bad news, but even if Sabrina pulls another miracle, there won’t be space for a comeback.

If this was undertaker then it would be straight into the Hells Gate submission move with no problem. Lets see how much heart she has on Friday.

Youknow Al no one really says dandy in cuasual conversation un less they are being sarcastic good to have a fellow old soul about ,but on a diffrent note nthe course of events the of yesturday i stubled upon of a french novelist by the name of marquis de sade and it imeddiately brought the question to my mind is chloe related to him, it is doubtful but then again i figured de sade is a fairly uncommon last name so it might be possablebut the ref should call a personal foul on kat unnessary roughness =P just kidding on that but id like to congradtulate Kat for doing the prudent thing here and going for a difficult pin move giving Bree the respect a tough as nails fighter deserves but looking to the future as you and several of the awesome fans here have stated that Bree one way or anothe r is going to have a super rough time with Chloe in their last woman standing match i do believe Chloe has the advantage at them moment but like you said if she pulls it out here the victory will deffinatly deaden the aches and pains, so come on bree youcant let the belles get the sweep on you if you win this one and lose the next adn taking your performance here you left everything out on the mat and fight a greatfight, fighitng a 3 on one battle no less but i stand by that you need a good long rest after these fights i suggest you adn 3 of yoru closest friends lay out onthe beaches of hawaii for a month
um…so…like i said all along…, Kat’s defintiely winning this one <nods>. as has been mentioned, all the leverage in working in Kat’s favor, bodyweight is folding Brina up like an accordion and kat has the extra force exerting from using her legs to further push into the pinning attempt. Brina’s strength is her lower not upper body so with all that mass on her arms she’ll have a tough time compensating for it to kickout in say a second or so.
No doubt even now Chloe has sent Jen into the Upstarts locker room to go fetch that cake and refreshments they so nicely laid out for the new TV champ.
even if Brina somehow kicks out, then somehow wins the match, there’s no way she’ll be in any condition to do much against Chloe. i wonder if this is the start of a downward spiral for Brina- til now she’s pretty much won every match she’s been in, gotten the better of everyone who’s come up against her in promos/matches/backstage (til the nightclub).
now Gabby shall see (was this her plan all along perhaps?) how Ultragirl holds up under potentially consecutive losses at the biggest PPV of the year. That hissing sound you hear is the air coming out of Brina’s possibly oversized ego given her past good run right about now.

Re: BBD and MGC’s pro-heel fangirlishness – if Brina can roll back on her shoulders and snap her knees out to under Kat’s armpits, she could pretty easily get into a position close enough to the rubber guard that she could attempt the gogoplata or a triangle choke. She’s probably lost too much energy to actually do it, but it’s most certainly possible from that position.
Random query Albone, how come you bleeped out Krystin’s profane utterance in panel 2? I’m sure you’ve always left it uncensored before.
First I would like to applaud M.G.C. and jpiv’s further review of why this is over. She is literally folded up. She has absolutely no way of rolling back in that position. She probably might have had the time at doing something before the count of 2, but there is absolutely no way she can get out of that stygimoloch. The only real possible way she can get out is something I fear may happen. And that is if Miria sticks her nose into yet another match. Like how it cost Susy her match.
Alley beatdown+powerbomb+Katastrophe=A Rag doll for Chloe. There is humility in defeat, hopefully Sabrina learns something from this and the up coming beating by the hands of chloe.

Not so. That is absolutely doable from there. It doesn’t matter HOW folded up Brina is. Her knees could be touching her breasts, and she’d still be able to snap her legs under Kat’s armpits with the right application of force – and it would the shoulderblades doing the work there. Kat’s pushing Brina’s shoulders back already which makes it more of a matter of timing and speed than pure strength. I don’t expect it to happen – I think Kat has this one in the bag – but it can’t be ruled out.

Rubber guard? Hmmm I dunno. I think Kat might be over-committed a bit so that a back door escape could work. But that leaves Kat on her back. Doesn’t look good! But the locker room is all on pins and needles for sure!
well if kat does win i stop reading i know its just a comic but having a cheater like that win would be disgusting
any heel is going to cheat in wrestling, that’s what makes them the heels for the most part. can’t have the good guys(or gals) win all the time or there’s no story of the face/good girl digging down deep and getting his or her revenge on the dastardly heels who cheated their way past them before. just good side wins right away- the end.
It’s been a while since I’ve last commented here. I feel that it’s time Sabrina’s winning streak comes to an end and shave off some of that cockiness she’s been building up, really showboating like that just after she was warned about it (I guess Sun didn’t beat it into her hard enough the first time).
That’s a nice pin, I don’t think even the most flexible wrestlers would be able to slip out of that. And even if Sabrina could manage to pull off a weak triangle hold, I don’t know Kat seems to still have the strength to power out and even lift her for another bomb. Either way she’ll be nice and tender against Chloe enough to give her a bit of an advantage.
Unless someone comes out to interrupt this should be a one two three.
Just wondering am I the only one who would love to see a comic done on the world of the heels? They have it tough too.
I just think I should lay it out first that BBD and MGC aren’t making me crazy with their heel-glorification, I was crazy looooong before I found RA, but I do have a lot of fun cheering against them. I like cheering for the good guys beyond all hope, because however cool the villains may be I’d still rather see the world get better instead of worse. (Yes, wrestling villains aren’t exactly going to destroy Tokyo but it’s the same principle) I don’t know enough about wrestling to know if Sabrina can get out of this, and my world won’t end if she doesn’t.

Well it does look like she is gonna lose. I hope the writers remember to kick her off Rival Angles and push her back into development again cause that threat was levied at her by the main gal from the beginning of this fight. Then we can have that nice re-building deal. Heck flash back a few years later or something.

Jabberwocky, the tension and drama have been turned up to 10! You have a good eye with Kat’s pin. She’s using it because it’s functional and a little bit showy. Is there a back door there for Sabrina though? I can’t say that I’ve planned any update pages to fall purposely on any date i.e. New Year’s Eve, but it’d be pretty neat if something big did happen. O_o
Darkmark, those are some good questions. If Sabrina can kick out, then what? She’ll certainly have to make the most of it.
Dyna, you can bet the rest of the locker room is anxiously watching this match too, but obviously the Upstart girls are feeling the dread the most.

BBD, it’s certainly the prevailing pragmatic view that Sabrina is finished and she gets counted out on Friday, but Sabrina’s proven it before that she can kick out as evidenced by her supporters voicing their opinion here and in the comic. As for Jeff, did you know that there’s a running gag that he’s most often wrong? 😛
Nicely put, comichero. Sabrina’s put it all out there and I don’t think anyone could fault her if she comes up short. Through the triple teaming, the low blows and a hard fought match, she’s represented herself well. As for De Sade, expect a bit backstory later on the Frenchwoman and what historical ties she has.
jpiv, glad you spotted the signs! Some good questions and observations here. There’s a lot going against our little Sabrina right now and though she’s proven she’s capable of houdini-ism, it might not be enough this time. And if Sabrina were to drop this match, you bring up a good point that this could be the beginning of a long losing spell for her, that was kicked off by the Belles in the alleyway. Chloe might want the refreshments of the Upstarts, but I think even Jen wouldn’t risk an upset dragon right now. XD

Hey MGC! According to Paul Heyman and Lance Storm, the heel’s job is to get the face over to the point that people want to pay money to see the face beat the crap out of the heel. /heel-face 101. Sabrina looks out cold and she just might be. Could her winning streak be over, though it really was only 5 matches long? Brenda’s on over a 5 match winning streak but you don’t boo her. But you’ve been consistent in wanting to see Sabrina lose and get beat up, so maybe you just like that (which of course, is cool). After all, you mentioned all we see is Sabrina win and then quickly forget about Loretta, Misty and the alleyway beatdown. That doesn’t seem fair does it? Hmmm, but yes, 3 years and no missed updates!

Hey Spirit! I don’t think Sabrina has showboated this match, but it really hasn’t helped her. If anything, as in panel 1, Kat is the one showboating. Kat’s got that pin locked in nice and tight and I think you’re the first today to question if interference saves the day. Chloe’s certainly licking her lips in anticipation of her match with Sabrina after this. I try to blur the lines with heels and faces. Sun and Brooke are heels who are nice (enough) and faces like Xtina who aren’t very nice at all.
Right on, Cookie Ogre! Y’know, even when I love heels, like Nicole Matthews or Edge, I still boo them. It’s almost disrespectful to their work to do otherwise. But, at heart, I root for the good guys. That being said, my favorite writer is Cormac McCarthy and he doesn’t write a lot of happy endings. 😛 But you’re not alone, as evidenced by the comments, in your supprot and hope that Sabrina kicks out and continues. 😉
Hi Raphel, it’s certainly looking like Sabrina isn’t going to make the kickout. I don’t think Gabrielle said that Sabrina goes back to developmental if she loses. She said that about Sabrina if she didn’t show up to the PPV in the first place. I think you might be thinking about Krystin, who is very wary of the fact that Gabrielle will fire her, in front of her parents if she doesn’t win.

Lol, how many times has Kat had Jennifer in that position? *wink wink* Anyways, the only way for Brina to get out of this is if she had a strong core and midsection. She’s going to have to forch that 150 lb frame of Kat off her and do it fast.
I think it’s safe to say that no matter what happens on Friday, Rival Angels the webcomic will end 2010 and summarily begin 2011 on Monday in a big way, if not HUGE. I honestly think it’s safe to say that. That said, barring Sabrina definitely being outcold, is it really so hard to believe that she could kick out or is playing possum and reverses the pin situation? Difficult or not, from this pinning predicament Katherine has Sabrina in, it has happened in real matches before and there’s technically no stopping it from happening now. Again, assuming Sabrina isn’t 100% out of it.
Also, let’s not forget that Katherine is a heel, and she did in fact make Heel Mistake #1 in the first bleeding panel of this page: Showboating herself when she should have gone for the pin. Had she pinned Sabrina right away, by the last panel, the match would have been over. But she didn’t, and historically speaking, that’s all it takes. A second too long to gloat and the match either ends in disaster for the heel or at the very least continues. As the old saying goes: It’s not over til it’s over. And me? I doubt very much it’s over on Friday. And if it is, there’s no telling how it’ll go down. Will Sabrina prove to be playing possum and come from out of nowhere and win it? Will Katherine win? Will an authority figure bring Chloe’s attack on Sabrina while the ref’s back was turned early on to the ref’s attention and order the match continued or award Sabrina the title outright for it? These and other things, of varying likeliness, could happen, and there’s too many to know exactly which scenario plays out.
And BBD, did you ever think that maybe no preview for Friday means that whatever happens, a preview would give it away? And let’s not assume that Sabrina didn’t learn anything about showboating. For if Sun didn’t teach her anything when they fought, even if she does somehow win, this match almost certainly did.
YES! The only way this could be better is if Kat simply did a cocky boot on abs pin instead. Sabrina is OUT! (i’ve been wrong before though)

Tarrasque, I neither confirm nor deny that Monday 2011 will be big. Okay, I think it will be. 😉 Yeah, Sabrina kicking out shouldn’t be so surprising. It happens in MMA, where a fighter pulls out the last ditch effort t win it. I’ve can count at least 3 times it happened in the last 6 months and one of them was for a championship, but I digress. Well I dont think Brina is finish, she proved already she can reverse situations, specialy when her fans are with her. And an agil wrestler like Brina can use her agility to roll over that position.
Another thing could happen.. Kat maybe would like to punish Brina again and raise Brina herself just before the 3 count, then as she pprepare another move, Brina reverse the move…
So saying its already over and there is no way out without any doupt!! Naaa, I dont buy that, its just a possibility like others. There is always a way out in those situation, and in a fight, as long its not over, there is always things tthat can happen, an opponent never finish until the victor is declared by the ref!

It being the New Year coming it should be out with the old (Kat) in with the new. SABRINA! SABRINA! I was so glad we got a look at the girls in the room, their sentiments are exactly mine. I could see her kicking out of this one, but where will she go from there. Ah now to wait and wait and wait.
