Page 330 – UltraDragon
They still have a long way to go, but it’s a great step forward. First of all, they were able to fend off Hell’s Belles but there’s some consequences here still. We don’t know what’s in store for Sun for going off the Damage Inc reservation but expect a reaction from Yvonne and Damage Inc. Chloe might be gone for now, but she’s a very vindictive woman who never forgives and always evens up every score which isn’t good for Sabrina or Sun. But for now, Sabrina and Sun have more than their individual victories to celebrate.
This particular scene was supposed to end two weeks ago immediately after the match where Sabrina called out Chloe. While in Baltimore last year, I ran the next scene by Artist Alley neighbor Lora Innes to get her opinion. She thought that this scene ended fine but that the next scene needed better buildup with where our favorite BFF’s are going(paraphrasing a LOT). After giving it some thought, I came up with this ending and I think it was much better because of it. Thanks Lora!!!

A nice way to wrap things up (for now) and end the week, interested to see if they get to talk in private or will Damage Inc show up? It seems that the Queen Damager had either plan on this response from Sun or is formulating a punishment, based on the Voting Incentive, I always loved cerebral villains compared to the plain crazy ones.
I really enjoyed this page but the wrestling fan in me is SO worried about what Sun is saying. I really hope she doesn’t turn on Sabrina here. That would totally suck, I hope they just help the jobber up and then beat her up on the stage or something…lol

Quick critique that my mind isn’t wrapping around this early in the morning:
De Sade doesn’t look quite right in that perspective in panel 3 there. Maybe it’s the size of where they are… which by the way I have no clue where they are from the ring to that location… Can you clear that one up Al?
Guess Angel officially stuffed up her big opportunity. Poor love. Well, I suppose it’s her own fault for trying to play a game with higher stakes than she could handle. Here’s hoping that Sun and Brina do the honourable things and pull her to safety, even if they give her a bit of a kicking which let’s face it, she pretty much deserves.
Nice voting incentive, but I wonder whether that’s Yvonne or Gabrielle?
Great episode! Congrats on making it to 330! I love the dialogue and the set up leading up to this point! Poor Angel Soprano. I hope she gets a chance to get her revenge. Plus, Sabrina and Sun’s reunion and the possible aftermath. So many possibilities! I can’t wait for the next episode. ^_^

review from the past… York Sisters, leaving Damage Inc.. and it hasn’t reveal they got a match.. like a vengence match… the only match we know is. when the Hell’s Belles got mad at the Yorks.. so I think Yvonne don’t want mess things what is already mess.. Damage Inc just kept calm.. The pride of Damage Inc.. it’s like Damage Inc won’t like to have blood on their hands..or get their hands dirty..
to inciate the attack on Sun will be Hell’s Belles.. Chloe will have a meeting again with Yvonne reguarding Sun.. there Damage Inc will betray Sun..

Let’s say.. Sun will have a match… surely Damage Inc will be on her side.. let’s say.. Sun Wong w/ Damage Inc VS Jennifer Needles w/Katherine Smith.. when Sun thought Damage Inc will help her in a crucial moment.. Damage Inc backstab Sun, and cost Sun a winning. Hell’s Belles went on to destroy Sun..

I think Lora was right, as the story this way had more build and the emotional pay off is better. I have really gotten to like these two characters a lot in the last year or so of reading Rival Angels and they have a good relationship.
Now that’s what I call powerhouse. That’s something to say it looks like she could stand on her own. I wonder if Getting Kat on Belles came with Jen (seemingly weaker) attached. Of course they are leaving Angel behind. Last where sun says but first they both yank up angel (wouldn’t mind a good swift kick to the backside after the rescue.) That was quite the rollercoaster ride from the battle to after battle. All I can say is Whooo! As for the voting incentive, looks like a few things of damage inc. First they don’t seem like ones to make waves (not wanting to go against belles but be harmony-ish) Sun being part of inc, could get them in line, and I can see Chloe giving a call to damage. This could mean a few things, from a quick kick out, to a possible betrayal, or maybe a quci “lesson”. I don’t see a lot going well. I know how they reacted to the York sisters leaving. Things to ponder…

And the end of it (so far) is very cool: the mighty duo is back and it’s good to see it!
I’m not a fond of the way you’ve drawn Chloe running out of the scene: I would have pictured her more pissed off, not running but walking fast, with a cold anger displayed on her face. Here, she seems to be running (her legs are flexed) while I would have imagined her head bent forward, fists clenched, legs extended (as if walking fast/decidedly, not running) . However, I just LOVE the face Sabrina has on panel 4: great job on showing her happiness 🙂

I’ve been following this comic for ages and thought I should finally comment rather than just lurking in the shadows. I’ve always loved the story and the art, but recently I think Sabrina is looking particularly gorgeous. Looking back on your earlier pages and comparing them to these later ones, the way she’s drawn seems much more attractive. It’s not that you’ve changed her drastically – I think it’s more that your art has improved as you’ve gone on (not that it was ever bad). Anyway, I think it’s good that she’s looking prettier – she’s meant to be the kind of girl the managers think will attract lots of fans with her looks and attitude, so it stands to reason that she is attractive. Also, I like stories where the pretty blonde main character is tough and intelligent, rather than typically ‘blonde’.
I’m so glad that she and Sun look as though they’re going to sort things out – I liked the storyline of their friendship, and I was sad when Sun became so hurtful. She went from being one of my favourite characters to someone I didn’t like too much. Hopefully she’ll make up for that when she talks to Sabrina!

i think Chloe had about enough of the situation Jul, that’s why she got out of dodge as fast as she could. Not too fond of almost even odds with possible Damage Inc backup on the way (Chloe doesn;t know Sun’s not here at Yvonne’s request after all) so time to skedaddle and ambush another day. Not too fond of attacking when someone’s actually looking either is Miss De Sade.
Angel “Hell’s Belles” looks like she might be on the verge of receiving a tsunami from the reuinited but for how long Ultradragon. Either that or Brina and Sun both pick a hand and stomp it. Guess you can’t count out the pull her up, Angel’s happy at first until she realizes who saved her, gets beaten up more- scenario either though. 🙂
Nikki and Kyra seem to be a bit upset about Sun’s actions and venting to Yvonne who, as usual, seems completely calm and in control about the way things went in the preview.
ooh wait i know… Sun…belly to belly suplex to Brina… flinging her over the edge of the runway to certain pain and a cut to Yvonne next panel sitting in the office saying “I love it when a plan comes together” while Nikki and Kyra look at her stunned speechless… yeah that’s the ticket! ;P
at least jen didn’t get into any further trouble with Chloe.
jabberwocky, I can definitely see your liking Yvonne. She’s a planner and a schemer and we’ll see some more of that coming up. I finally ended a week on a ‘period,’ rather than a cliffhanger. XD
RAWF, your inner wrestling fan is right to be wary, because the road to wrestling success is paved with broken hearts and friendships. However, at least for the moment, you can rest easy but there is something to look forward to with these two on Monday. I think Angel is still hanging around…

Stygilomoch, that would be pretty heavy if that were Gabrielle instead of Yvonne in the voting incentive! Angel did not exhibit a good showing her first time out and only Chloe knows for sure what will happen next with the newest Belle.

Vekara, I’d love to go into the backstory of the Belles but I’m not sure it’ll quite happen that way, but I can tell you that they started with Chloe and Kat, and then Kat brought Jen in. Yeah, a wild ride that is finally going to take a breather, at least physically. Lots of things to ponder, like what Damage Inc and Hell’s Belles do next!
Jul, it’s clear that Lora’s got a good head for this sort of thing and I’m glad you liked how it turned out because of it. Sun and Sabrina are back but know comes the talk. As for Chloe, she didn’t quite care for the situation, her lack of control over it and decided to bounce. For her, it wasn’t about appearance but for ending an unenviable situation. She’s gone for the moment but she’ll be back.

Chloe is the same size as Jen and Kat is huge in comparison… Plus, Chloe’s right hand is larger than her forearm by a bit. Maybe a bit too much grey hard to distinguish it. Other than that it’s still great stuff.

Prediction time (although I’m probably waaay off base): Yvonne was impressed with the way Sabrina handled herself, as well as the way she and Sun worked together. With the Yorks out they’re lacking a dedicated tag team among the Damagers, and Chloe is becoming too unpredictable to serve as a useful ally any longer. All of which points to one thing… That shocked reaction on Brina’s face in the voting incentive is because Yvonne has just offered her a place in Damage Inc!
