Chapter: Chapter 13 - Hostile Intent
Characters: Krystin Moline, Sara Valentine
Location: Angel Dome arena
Sara took too long showboating! In her defense, she’s never fought anyone quite like Krystin and wasn’t expecting her to recover so quickly. And just like that, Sara’s on the receiving end of a Krystin beatdown. What’s more, Krystin seems to be enjoying herself. And look at this: they’re in the ring now so the match can be resolved with a pinfall or submission.
Early last month I went to a SHIMMER show and took a bunch of pictures. If you don’t know SHIMMER it’s the very best women’s wrestling federation and I had front row tickets! The action even spilled into our part of the audience!!

Hey Mr. Tambourine Man play a song for me….
A song of pain and concussion for the Skanky Schoolgirl. Yeah. Big surprise she drug stuff out from under the ring last time. Kyrstin deserved it for playing the Schoolgirl’s game. She needs to settle down and play her own now. Weapons are good, but come on. Kyrstin is a technical sort. She should use it more. Ringpost Figure Four. Tie her in the ropes with a submission hold. Grab the plunger and use it to cover Sara’s face during a pin.
Okay… that’s not technical, but it would so rock to see. 😀
As for the voting incentive. Very cool. I can see it. Kyra would be pushing Brina’s buttons enough to have the Ultragirl off her game enough to get a hold like that locked in, and I can see Miss Gold being cocky enough to pull hair and be forced to release the hold instead of just focusing on winning like she should. Kyra Gold is the Jennifer Needles of Damage Inc in my mind: The weak link. She’s the one I think will be the problem for the group if they don’t handle her well. On the flip side, she’s probably smarter than Needlenose and does what she’s supposed to do or she wouldn’t be in Damage Inc anymore. I don’t see that stable putting up with screwups long.

looks like someones going to be playing the double J solo tonight, if that Guitar comes into play. Didn’t expect the tambourine though, unorthadox weapon.
I just love the selection of weapons in that trash can. The possibilities are endless. Sara thinks Kristin is fat? Sara seems a bit insecure, and trying to mess with Kristin’s head.
To be honest…trying to mess with Kristyn’s head is only going to result in more pain. You can only get away with it if you’re faster and sneakier…
Hey Salazen! Ha ha, got that snappy tune in your head now, eh? Krystin is sort of deviating from her own game plan but she’s having a bit of fun beating Sara at her own game. Good call on the plunger, as well as it’s use. I don’t know if we’ll ever see it but an Upstart was in an match early on in their career where the plunger was used for the pin. 😉 Now, you never know if this fight will go back outside where Krystin can use some of those nastier moves you suggested. Glad you liked the voting incentive as well as the premise behind it. I could see it going down like that. As for Kyra, I think she technically is the weak link and it’d be an interesting match between her and Jenn. XD
MGC, are you kidding? Sara just about scared herself to death when she ran into Amanda. Can you imagine a world where Sara makes fun of Amanda to her face? No. I know you love Sara but, come on. Why don’t you think that being hit in the head by Krystin with a tambourine would hurt? O_o I think you’re starting to mark out a little too hard for Ms. Valentine. LOL Did you not see her last match, where she tried to use brass knuckles on Krystin and still failed? Sabrina/Kyra would be pretty cool, eh? I would be put Sun in the middle of things…

Prestwick, I loves me some Oasis and had the pleasure of seeing them a few times. I hope they reunite, Sabrina is devastated! 😛 Sara is finding out in a painful way that she probably shouldn’t take Krystin lightly.

Looks like Krystin is “madferit!”
panel 1 reminds me of a book i read once where two guys are having a swordfight, one guy makes a comment about the other not being used to his style of fighting, the second lands a cut and starts saying “well maybe i know a bit more than you think.” only to have the first guy skewer him while he’s talking. his friends bail him out and the second guy’s friend says something to the effect of “you’re actually making speeches in the middle of a sword fight!?!?!”
bad news for sara as now they’re in the Def tech’s preferred area of combat. but you know what i think this fight needs? More cowbell!
i expect the stop sign to come into play soon enough, Krystin perhaps smacking sara upside the head with it then holding the sign up and yelling “Say No to STDs!”

Panel 3: Yet another ruined nose job! Poor girl – she’ll have to win this match to be able to afford a little reconstruction! Maybe she can get some Obama bucks – assuming she’s shovel ready…
I tell ya what. I won’t be impressed until Krystin can do a match in hexipentameter like my hero, Cyrano. Maybe she dould use the plunger as her foil lol.

Quality match so far, very back and forth, possibly the most back and forth match we’ve ever seen in this wonderful comic. Which is good because I have absolutely no idea who is going to win at this point. Even though my prediction was Schoolgirl winning, I’d like to see Def Tech win considering I like Sara as a fan should like a heel, I love to see her lose and I love to see Def Tech succeed, hehe.
Haha Prestwick! Sabrina is the heavy Oasis mark but you have to know that her evil influence has rubbed off in the Upstart house so by default, Krystin is madferit! Actually, a fun voting incentive would be to show Sabrina’s reaction to Oasis splitting.
jpiv, I think the lesson there is to save showboating for after you win, or at least until you have your opponent suitably impaired. Maybe add, don’t talk about the size of their butt either. YEAH, always need more cowbell! That’s a catchy phrase for Krystin to say too. XD Great ideas, especially with Sun being the special guest referee! LOL
GhostEraser, you just know that Sara is turning her face as much as she can so her nose doesn’t take it. XD Sara’s the type of girl that knows how to get to the front of the line, so if there’s a hand out, she’ll be there.
Hey Champ! I don’t think Krystin’s going to get that fancy, and she’ll probably just stick to having fun with the tambourine and other easily used items. The plunger is a true winner. 😉
Chris, the list grows daily for Krystin to win. It’s wild! I’m just happy everyone is enjoying the match. Dawn tends to mirror a lot of female fans in this instance. 😉 More to come from this match, I’m glad you’re enjoying it and even feeling some suspense on who might come out victorious in this.

First the skateboard, and now the tambourine, I’m impressed.
I seriously think Sara has messed around with Jeff. Granted, Sara has probably messed around with a lot of other men in the company too. Just seems like that kind of chick.
I had “Mr. tambourine man” stuck in my head all day now, of course “Ms. tambourine woman” might be more apporiate after today lol. My weapon of choice would be the combonation of the trashcan and a tree of woe, a la vintage ECW Tommy Dreamer. Krystin was two good damage points, head and arm, on Sara keep working those and she won’t be skating or “visiting” Jeff soon =P
Very nice! I like the tambourine mixed into the craziness. The schoolyard brawl has turned into music class from the looks of it. The wristlook looked great in the second panel. The dialogue is very solid with Sara’s ranting to the heel announcer’s words of Krystin’s personal Vendetta. Keep up the great work!

jabberwocky, it was ‘collateral damage’ so to speak, having the song in your head. lol If Krystin has her way, Sara won’t be playing with Jeff any time soon. The dropkick garbage can into the tree of woe is always solid, as well as surfing a chair into a tree of woe. Could be coming….!!

I just started reading not to long ago, two days ago actually. Great story. I’m interested in seeing where the upstarts go. At first you had me hating Brooke and Krystin, then you had me disappointed in Sun. Now I’m speculating on a few things like Gabrielle being the one pulling Krystan’s strings to get her more publicity and why the Upstarts debuted as a face stable but Brooked decided to play heel. Just some observative speculations/questions. Overall good story, good art. Keep it comin, I’ll be sticking around.
