Well, that’s one way to start a match. Despite Sara’s early start in the match, she’s not doing anything illegal and as you may have noticed, the match just started backstage! While this is an anything-goes match, the pinfall or submission have to happen INSIDE the ring. They can beat each other up as much as they want anywhere they want, but if they want to win, they’ll have to eventually make their way back to ringside. Good thing that there’s cameramen around to capture all of the action, or we’d never know what’s going on! XD
So, any predictions on what’s going to happen and who’s going to win?

even with Sara Valentine, first strike on Krystin.. Krystin still got all the advantage still… if Sara successfully made Krystin unconscious, that turns the tide..
Panel 4: That fire extinguisher to the torso area is well done by Sara.. it really could knock Krystin out. surely took the oxygen out from Krystin, it the art detail here is well done Albone…
Sara studied anatomy well, even she skip classes the whole time..
Panel 5: now Krystin is needed on air, then this… I don’t know what’s in it.. a foam or nitrogen, surely not helping Krystin.. which Krystin needs is an oxygen.. hehehe!!

it’s a de javu from the previous episode.. Brooke and Krystin losses the match while Sabrina and Sun winning..

Ya know, there are times where Krystin makes it very hard to root for her. Was that crack at Nick strictly neccessary? I know it seems to be his bit to be the frequently abused interviewer, but here Krystin comes off more like a jerk than being witty, IMO. Not that they’re mutually exclusive (the Rock practically made a career out of acting like a jerk to interviewers, and he was *awesome* in doing it), but Krystin doesn’t quite have the gift of gab to pull it off, I think.
I’m backing Sara, because A) I’d like to see a decider on PPV, and B) this isn’t yet built up enough for Sara to lose her speciality match for the first time (even if that speciality is just a name change, lol).
Sara’s quip is awesomely bad, in a good way. Very Arnie. Although don’t modern fire extinguishers use foam rather than steam? XD
Ohhh a knock down, drag out, sloberknocker has started back stage. I wonder if any other wrestlers may want to come in for a piece of either Kristen or Sara? Anything goes!
Also, what is that girly “Eeeek” from Nick? Man up, man. Take being hit on by a woman in stride, not pansying out like you did. 😛
sara may be outsmarting herself here. if she KOs Krystin outside the ring like this then she has to drag her all the way back to the ring in order to win. methinks the winsome Schoolgirl might have a bit of trouble dragging Krystin’s deadweight that far. so i expect Krystin to start to rally in the next update.
Krystin’s mic work needs some help still- sort of like an certain Excellence of Execution who needed to hide behind shades because he was so nervous about doing interviews at first. still part of her “wrestle like a face act like a heel” tweener thing she has going for her that she’ll need to sort out.
sticking with Krystin here to break up MGC’s deja vu from last time. doesn;t seem all this effort would be made just to repeat the same sets of results. i’m also calling for an early “so busy paying attention to everyone else,what i have a match now?” Sabrina defeat so Marina’s advice/lessons can finally start to sink in.
but now the most important question is- given how 90% of all men’s backstage brawls make their way into the women’s locker room- will this match make it to the little boys’ room?
Hmmm Looks like a shot to the solar plexus to me. Uffffff Krystin’s in trouble if so. And the extinguisher (steam? haha) would steal more oxy. Sara could ride this a long way. Then again, the ring is a long way off. That’s time to recover and get something going. This will be interesting!

“Def Tech,” thank God for that, that’ll save a lot of time in the future when I need to refer to Krystin. I think Rival Angels needs to hire an interviewer more like Gene Okerlund; “Mean” Gene wouldn’t take the abuse Nick receives, he would lay down the law.
I’m really looking forward to this match; I like both characters (with a sure preference toward Krystin) and there’s a lot of great stuff that can be done here with a no DQ match. I predict, and hope for, a brutal back and forth match as these 2 ladies battle toward the ring. I reitterate my prediction of Sara pulling out the win for 2 reasons: this kind of match is Schoogirl’s element and I enjoy the storyline of this feud too much for it to end quite yet. I think a win by Krystin would mark the end of the grudge considering her arguement is that Sara Valentine doesn’t belong in the ring, so beating her at her own game would pretty much “prove her right” as far as I can tell.
I have a funny feeling that.. ‘Latin Chick’ Loretta Diaz will show up…

Make the best of your current advantage, Sara, when Krystin gets back to her feet you are going to explore the texture of every surface between there and the ring – with your face. ::evil grin:: Still, I have to give credit for taking the early advantage. MGC, you did get the ambush part right. That’s actually pretty funny about Upstarts not sensing ambushes. At least Krystin and Sabrina could use some spider-sense. Don’t count Krystin out yet, they still have to get to the ring. Loretta showing up? She has been missing for a while and anyone could show up here. Cool bringing up Jericho and Benoit. Their tag team used to be called ‘Sudden Impact.’ Your Deja Vu is off though. Brooke beat Monica and Krystin beat Sara, while Sun and Sabrina had their tag match on the last Meltdown.
Adon, she definitely has some ways to go with her mic skills but Krystin was giving Nick hell for his swooning over Sara. Think of it like this: Sara had Nick wrapped around her finger with her sex appeal and Krystin was going to assert herself through intimidation.
Stygimoloch, good Arnie catch! I actually did that as a nod to Commando. 😛 If Krystin does put Sara away in her own specialty match, well, the possibilities are endless. They could fight again, maybe tag, maybe someone else, but its really bad form (of me) to speculate like that. You are correct about fire extinguishers but these are the kind of extinguishers that the WWE buy. 😉
Kurt (LOVE that logo of yours), yeah it’s on like a bucket of chicken! That ‘anything’ goes is going to be the theme of this match. Yeah, Nick went out like a sucker and that’s going to come back to haunt him. lol
jpiv, great point about Krystin’s mic skills and Bret Hart. Really though, she was just getting started when she got jumped. I don’t know that Sara has thought that far ahead. She just wants to press her advantage. Maybe she’ll wheel Krystin’s limp body out to ringside! lol As far as the brawling restroom scene…it’s a classic, isn’t it? XD

Chris, glad you like the little nickname that Sara gave Krystin. I thought it had a nice touch. Gene Okurlund was great but you know, he’s greatest asset was when he was helping steering interviews. Macho, for example, would start rambling and Gene would help get him back on-topic all sly like. Lots of people are pulling for Sara so there’s a return match, but good catch that if Krystin wins, it will effectively end the feud between them (unless…interference leads to a tag match. !!)
Hey Cookie Ogre! LOL, that’s just how Krystin rolls, and it was short-lived anyways. You can expect Sara to press her advantage as hard as she can. Sara’s out to a fast start! Can she maintain it?

is the ringside area decorated like a schoolyard? since it’s a schoolyard brawl? coz like a boiler room brawl, or parking lot brawl, usually held in an area stated.. now schoolyard brawl, it should be a schoolyard? so ah? is the ringside re-model or re-decorated like schoolyard?

Sara doesn’t claim to be anything more than what she presents herself as while Krystin has an overvalued sense of self. Can’t say we’ve seen a ton of technical mastery from Krystin in the ring either, mainly her bashing around in a four way match, assaulting Valentine when the time was right and getting stretched out by the Cat Girls.
Krystin’s advantages are in the ring but she may be overconfident. Krystin has been nothing but an opportunist and a braggart.
wellnibahyve to argee with Brenda here( god i can’t beleive i said that :p) but Sara is workinga good game plan right now. that shot to the solar plexus and sparying her does keep the air out of her lungs. no matter how strong or how techy you are. no one can do anything if they don’t have that air in thier lungs.if Sara can keep her gapsing for air till they get to the ring she might finally score her first win since thsi comic started.
Always a fan of the wrestlers giving the interviewer shit. That’s an exciting way to start the match, gets the heel heat. I don’t believe we’ve seen much backstage brawling or hardcore stuff in Rival Angels yet. If I see a good table spot I’ll become a Kristen fan.

How would you decorate a ring like a schoolyard? Bicycle chains spring to mind… maybe balls? I imagine being hit with a baseball would hurt. A football (or soccer ball to you Americanadian types :p) to the face hurts too, I know that one first hand from my days as goalie! A climbing frame would be awesome, imagine the joint locks a good technician could do with it, but I’m not sure how you’d get a climbing frame in the ring! Anyhow I look forward to seeing what you’ve got up your sleeve, Albone 😀
Also I have a random question… what ethnicity is Krystin? Her skin tone’s changed quite a bit over the course of the comic. Currently I’d say she looks Indian or Pakistani, but I’m not sure if that’s the intent.
Picky, when you say it like that, it sort of describes half of the roster! XD I get what you’re saying. As you see, Sara has the upper hand but there’s lots more to this match. Maybe a surprise or two?
Hey Jenn, great observation about the possibility of this being Sara’s first win since the comic started. The poor schoolgirl has racked up quite the losing streak. A win here could get her into the PPV! But she has to win, first and her game plan does seem to be working.

I almost used Arnie’s ‘chill out’ from Batman and Robin. lol Y’know, I an only posture so far and I can’t say the ring will have a specific theme though there have been some ‘additions’ you wouldn’t find in a regular match. The climbing frame WOULD be cool! You’re not the first one to question Krystin’s ethnicity and it’s African American. I’ve been working on trying to reflect that more, but gradually so it’s not such a drastic change.
