Sabrina’s going-away party but her boyfriend isn’t anywhere to be found. Just like comic book artists, wrestlers are a bunch of long-goodbye sort so it’s best to get on with it. Where IS Yoshi, anyways? :/

Well, he’s surprised because he got friend-zoned, which he understandably considered a bad thing at the time, but she DOES still consider him a friend.
You have to be ruthless with the Friend Zone, leave no room for confusion!

Callie and Rob have summed up both sides nicely. She does consider him a friend but can he keep a lid on his feelings long enough to be one? Should he?
The problem is that guys don’t always react to friend-zoning honestly. Did you just want a romantic relationship (we’ll be generous and call it that) and a platonic friendship does not interest you? Then be up-front about that and don’t hang around hoping it’ll be “your turn” some day.
Not saying Ian’s doing that, but we haven’t really seen any interaction post FZing between him and Sabrina. It’s possible he just chose not to say anything he thought would make things awkward between him and a co-worker, (moreso, at any rate.)

Here’s how it’s usually been with me when I’ve gotten friend-zoned: I’ve never expected that if I hung out with the woman long enough, she’d eventually change her mind, because realistically she probably won’t. (Some people are not quite as realistic.)
Now, in my teens I used to take rejection really badly, but I grew to the point where today I’m not afraid to ask people out. And if I do ask somebody out and they say no, I’ll feel a little bad, but I’ll feel better later, and I won’t hold it against them or take it as an insult or anything like that. I get that sometimes people are just not interested because they’re not interested, and while that may be a reflection on you, it isn’t necessarily.
If I spend time with the person doing friend things afterwards, it’s because she had qualities I liked apart from just being hot, and those qualities make her enjoyable to hang out with or talk with.
So I’ve never met anybody where I thought “I want a romantic/sexual relationship with this person, and if I don’t get that I want nothing to do with them.”
But here’s the thing: while I honestly can’t remember the exact last time I had feelings this strong for anybody myself, I do remember what it was like to have them. I’m talking about being so attracted to somebody that the rejection makes you feel like complete shit, and you don’t completely get over it for a long time, or maybe ever.
And if I felt that way about somebody today, I think I’d be happy to be friends with them if they’d have me as a friend…but I wouldn’t be comfortable being hugged by them. I had to think about how to explain why I’d be uncomfortable. Hopefully I’ve come up with a decent analogy here, one that’ll make sense:
Let’s say that you enjoy drinking. Not to the point you’re an alcoholic, just that you enjoy having a few beers now and then. One day you go to your doctor, and you find out that you’ve got a condition that makes it dangerous to drink, except in really small amounts. As in, a glass of beer would be dangerous, but a sip of beer wouldn’t.
So you’re told that you can have a sip of beer if you want, but that’s it, you can’t have any more than that.
I would just give up beer entirely. And I wouldn’t want to ever take a sip, because a sip would make me want to drink the whole glass, and I wouldn’t be able to drink the whole glass, and that would be frustrating.
For somebody who still has feelings for someone else who just wants to be friends, a hug can be like the sip of beer. Making out, or sex, is like the whole glass. They’re both forms of affectionate physical contact. So with Ian, he might be thinking “Okay, I know nothing’s ever gonna happen with me and Sabrina, but she’s hugging me right now. And that makes me think about how I wish I could do more than just hug her back…but I can’t do that, because she’s not interested…goddamn it, this is frustrating. Not having any physical contact with her at all is easier than just having a little bit and knowing I can’t have any more than that.”
It may not be a good idea to give him a hug. Even if he doesn’t take it the wrong way, he might feel like she’s pouring salt in the friend-zone wound. “So I’m trying to not think about how attracted I am to you and all the things I’d like to do with you that I won’t get to, and you’re pressing your body against me. That’s…that’s great Sabrina, thank you for that, that makes it a lot easier.”
Didn’t think I’d ever say it, but I think I’m going to miss Ian. Without him, who’m I going to harp on for being the orangest guy in the room? Sure, there could be some new faces in Rival Angels when Sabrina gets home and one just happens to be particularly orange of flesh, but it just wouldn’t be the same.
Either way, considering who all did show up to Sabrina’s going away party, I guess we now know who her friends in Japan really are. Yoshi better have a damn good reason for not showing up. You can bet if she were my girlfriend, I’d show. Hell, I’d try to find a way to go with her.

But, at least Brina is going back to friends that like her, but she’ll be missing out on the crazy culture and awesome sushi that Japan has to offer… I’m torn… 😉
She is torn too! At the beginning of Season 2, she wanted nothing more than to be home, but now she’s met great friends, co-workers and fans…not to mention a cute boyfriend. Hard to give that all up.

hmm for some reason i’ve suddenly come up with a cutaway to yoshi and cocoa lying under the covers together toasting how the plan has come together.
somehow yoshi got involved because he’s getting back at Ian for a pre-existing somethign with the Elite vs. Yoshi’s group thing we didn;t know about (remember they weren;t exactly all that friendly when we first met the two groups). then joined forces with Cocoa on atlas’ orders to mess with brina’s head for turning atlas down. Cocoa then sends brina a photo of her w/yoshi and “bet you wish you were here!” msg
