Rival Angels Page 157-Flashback

Not since Page 1-3 have we seen Sabrina in the Developmental league, back in Biloxi. You may notice the subtle differences in her costume from then to now. ;)  I almost goofed it up a few times but I think I kept it consistent.

Hopefully, it’s obvious, but the blue border box is Sabrina, the green border box is Sun and the black colored box are the fans they’re interacting with at Six Flags Great America.

So far so good for Sabrina, but as she’s already said, she’s going to lose this match even with Mistress Dark basically packing it in. Of course, there’s a certain redhead who’s ominously at ringside and longtime readers will remember who she is and what she’s doing there.

Wednesday’s update is going to be big. Not necessarily because of content but because it’ll be one whole year of Rival Angels (and without missing an update. XD). Its been a long/short great year and I’ll have more about where we’ve been and where we’re going on Wednesday. Thanks for reading!

Rival Angels Page 132- The Towers of Terror

Heh, Johann the Voodoo Potentate of Doom cracks me up. A bathrobe and shower shoes, what’s not to love?  And he’s the first manager we’ve seen so far.  Far less jovial are Zombie Luna and Lover Lola .  They’re definitely all business and looking to put a hurting on the blond variation of the Upstart girls.

This was the first time I got to do an entrance like this, and I think it came off pretty well.  And I’m happy to admit that the little bit of Terrors jumbotron was created by me, no lifting pics and running through filters (which I’m not above doing) but all me.

Brooke’s looking kind of worried though despite Sabrina’s reassurances and remember that Brooke needs a win in this match to keep her job.  Its not out of the realm of possibility that Brooke wants Sabrina to soften up, i.e. tire the Terrors out by getting the crap beat out of her and picking the bones afterwards.  That’s way too cynical of a thought, right?

And for the theme to the Terror’s music, you’ll find it at least apropos:

HALLOWEEN VOTING INCENTIVE!
First we have super cool, my main man fifty grand, Jamie with the very sweet pic of Schoolgirl Sara Valentine in just about every fanboy’s first sci-fi geek crash with girls.
Second, we have the Upstarts dressed in costume chatting with a few characters from the Dreamer. Go vote to see it, and to break it down:
Krystin is dressed as Diamond from The Elevator .
Brooke is dressed as super cute alien chick from Surfboards and Rayguns (her name is still a mystery!)
Sun is dressed as Zombie combat Lia from Salt the Holly .
Sabrina is dressed up as Bea from The Dreamer and Bea is dressed as Sabrina.  Alan’s just Alan, because the name is just too cool to screw with. :P AND, I know some of the readers here are Dreamer readers too, so its all good.  I highly recommend you all check out the goodness that these webcomics have to offer.

Rival Angels Page 131-Tag Team Introductions

The introduction of the tag team paring of Sabrina and Brooke!  Any thoughts on how they’ll perform as a team?

Brooke seems genuinely surprised at the crowd reaction, no matter what the reason.  You would be correct if you thought that Brooke purposely took her time getting into the ring like she is in the last panel.  Wrestling fans might recognize that this entrance is a popular way that the ‘Beautiful People ‘ of TNA fame like to make their entrance.

Next update, Sabrina and Brooke’s opponent’s make their way to ringside!

Rival Angels Page 130-Rival Angels Halloween Special!-Chapter 7-

Chapter 7 , The Rival Angels Halloween Special written by Dan Head and everything else by yours truly. :D   I’ve known Dan for like, 5 years or something virtually and this isn’t the first time we’ve worked together so it was a lot of fun working with him again, even if its just for a little bit.  I’m sure I can talk him into doing some more Rival Angels again in the future. :D

It was hard trying to line this up so that it would fall around Halloween, and its going to run a little over, I hope you’ll forgive me.

For those that haven’t guessed, Sabrina is dressed as She-Ra, Princess of Power!! Yes, I know some of you guessed it, you’re very smart.  Brooke, I don’t blame anyone for not guessing that she’s dressed as a variation of the new Mary Marvel .  Yes, the wholesome good girl gone bad.  No need to read into anything here with Brooke and dressing as a bad Mary Marvel.  Great nod to Justin Riley (of the Rival Angels booking team ) for the suggestion here though I took it upon myself to alter Mary Marvel’s costume to reflect Brooke’s attitude.  So, what do you all make of their costumes?

Brooke’s attitude is a little worrying considering that she needs a win in this match to keep her job.  Maybe she’s hoping that Sabrina does all the heavy lifting?  Or maybe, if she looks fabulous enough, that will be enough for her to keep her job, win or lose?  Or both?  Neither?  We’ll have to keep reading to find out methinks…

Rival Angels Page 129-Deception

If nothing else, Brooke is consistent.  Brooke’s got an interesting set of priorities.  She needs to win this match with Sabrina, but it looks like she’s still going to try and undermine Sabrina’s showing.  Anything to be on top, so to speak.

Ack, though it was strongly suggested to Brooke by the boss (Gabrielle) to clue Sabrina in on her referee-boyfriend, Brooke has chosen to keep Sabrina in the dark.  Probably hoping that Sabrina gets caught even after being ‘warned.’

This was actually bittersweet to write because Sabrina and Brooke seem to have a fun conversation, though we know that Brooke is being insincere.  And once again we see the trusting nature of Sabrina, the potential there is to backfire on her.

The end of chapter 6!  Next update, The Rival Angels Halloween Special! Our Upstart girls will be in costume for this match, but which costumes will they be wearing?  And if you’re looking to see who their opponents are next week, take a gander at the voting incentives, which by the way, does not go unappreciated.
