If this were on TV, this probably would’ve been dragged out a little longer, but it’s not. Here, we cut to the chase and with Sabrina and Angel getting the ‘win’ over Xtina, the ref rules that this match continues. It is a bit unfair that Xtina lost this way but even though it was very tricky by Angel, it wasn’t against the rules. Angel is raring to go but Sabrina’s been roughed up pretty good. Does she have enough to continue or is Angel going to roll her? And is it time for a Sun sighting?
Btw, I’m in Las Vegas! I have written this in the past to bring you this update while I go wheeling and dealing in Sin City. I won’t be around very much but you guys do a great job of having really great conversations. Enjoy the updates and wish me luck!

Poor Angel. She thought she had the best spot but Sabrina and Xtina are showing some intestinal fortitude and not giving up to the party crasher. Angel can’t believe that she didn’t pick up the win and is taking it up with the referee, Zach. But while she’s distracted with not getting the pinfall, it looks like Sabrina and Xtina are getting their bearings back and from the look of that last panel, they seem awfully determined. Bad times for Angel? Maybe. What’s going to happen next??

My friend NAAN did a wonderful commission of Sun and Sabrina. Maybe something from the future? I know a lot of you want to see them reconcile and back to being BFF’s again. So Vote!
Some of you have guessed this coming and here it is. Angel Soprano, the winner of the Bonus Life Battle Royal and by winning that, earned a way back into the tournament. You might remember (or click the link and see) that this is how Angel operates. She waits for her opponents to wear each other out and then strike. She quite literally picked her exact spot to enter this match and this is now a triple threat match. Though, by the looks of things this match is all but over. Last update, Sabrina looked like she had the match won by getting Xtina to tap, but that seems like an eternity ago. Xtina’s in no shape to break up the pinfall and the only thing the fans can do is express their frustration and unhappiness.

Monday, January 11th is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. To participate, we formed the Comic Creator’s Alliance–a group of over eighty comic book creators (both web and print) who volunteered our artistic talents to raise money and awareness for this cause. You may not know it, but there are currently 27 million enslaved people worldwide- more than double the number of enslaved Africans during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. UNICEF estimates that 1.2 million children every year are sold into slavery, most of it sexual. The US Department of Justice estimates 16,000 victims of human trafficking are brought into the United States every year. Unlike slavery in the 19th century, what is happening today is happening in secret. So it won’t end until awareness is raised, and people like you and me take a stand.
So here’s what we did: each creator contributed an original drawing of one of our own female characters, and combined them into a single wallpaper image. The wallpaper features characters from The Phoenix Requiem, Girls with Slingshots, Earthsong, Looking for Group, Shadowgirls, The Uniques and four IDW Publishing titles: Fallen Angel, The Dreamland Chronicles, Love and Capes and The Dreamer, and lots, lots more! Donate today to download this unique, once-in-a-lifetime wallpaper. The Donations Drive will last for two weeks, from January 11th – 24th. All proceeds will be split evenly between Love146 and Gracehaven House- two organizations working on rehabilitation of victims and prevention of this crime.

Sabrina had the match won but the ref took off for some reason! In MMA and wrestling, you’re taught to keep fighting until the ref stops you and the bell rings, which is why Sabrina kept up the move even though Xtina was most definitely surrendering.
Here’s the champ, Brenda Rua’s thoughts on the Gogoplata:
“What a surprise! This is an advanced technique from the ne waza of judo and I’m amazed to see her go for it. I’ve had no clue she was even working on it. But she made it look easy. I’m impressed. I’m impressed she slipped it in on me too. Hmmmph!”
Sabrina shows she can talk tough, but still shows the good girl streak for breaking the hold without getting instruction to do so. Basically, doing the right thing. She’s pretty mad that Zach the ref isn’t paying attention. He’s got some explaining to do!! The match continues. What do you think Sabrina’s going to find on Monday?
Happy Birthday Rival Angels! Rival Angels turns 2 today! How have you liked the story so far? Any favorite moments you’ve enjoyed in the last year? And what do you think it going to happen in Year 3? I know a few of you have been around since near the beginning and I really appreciate it.
The way this match was going, it was only a matter of time before things turned ugly. Xtina was already living up to her ‘hairpulling’ billing. The fans are enjoying all of the rough action but the intensity of the competitors has boiled over into the first real shady move of the match. According to Wikipedia, a rabbit punch is a blow to the neck or to the base of the skull. It is considered especially dangerous because it can damage the cervical vertebrae and subsequently the spinal cord, which may lead to serious spinal cord injury or even death. If this were MMA, Sabrina would be given time to recover, but that’s not going to happen here because this is pro wrestling. Xtina receives a warning to her dismay. In many sports, veterans enjoy a certain bit of leeway and that’s what Xtina is getting instead of getting DQ’d. Match continues.
