The girls are getting ready for their night out at the premiere opening of Club Redline! It’s been a while since these three, especially Sun and Brooke have had a chance to interact so this could be interesting/entertaining. We just need Krystin to make it a full house!
Anime Milwaukee
This past weekend I got to kick off Con Season with one in my own backyard, Anime Milwaukee. I plan on getting a full account up during the week, hopefully sooner than later. I can tell you that it was cool and probably the best small con I’ve been at.
Voting Incentive
For a sneak peak into page 347 and possibly a new side of Brooke you’ve never seen before, it’s time to Vote!
Well, Brooke seems to be a bit hostile just walking in with comments of that sort. I wonder what could be bugging her. Perhaps that “You’ll be as big as Sabrina, that’s no big deal” comment is some sort of hint, hehe. As for the voting incentive, Brooke looks pretty darn outraged at someone.
And yes, we do indeed need Kyrstin to make it a full house.

Well we now know that Brooke never worked part time as crisis mediator before her pro career >.>, the partying and drinking hasn’t started things are already out of control gonna be a long day. Sun does have a right to be upset at Brooke, especially about the race comment. I known we saw some of Sun’s origin but we really don’t much about more about her family dynamic prior to her father’s death or divorce, not sure which one. My friend Steve has people walk up to him and ask “What are you?” because he’s Asian. I cannot believe people actually behave like that, Sun has a reason to be upset with morons. Just like Sun, my buddy Steve is totally AMERICAN. pfft.
On another note, I can see that whatever tentative friendship Brooke and Sabrina had going, Michael’s comment obliterated it. Ah, well. I guess it makes for better stories. XD

Lora, Steve has my sympathies. One of my friends at school was actually the other way round! He himself was born in England but his family are of Chinese ancestry. Despite being British himself, he always considered himself Chinese, and referred to himself as such. When it comes to nationality, you are what you consider yourself to be. I was born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, and I AM a geordie, I AM British, but I am NOT English because the England/Wales/Scotland divide is meaningless to me. I have no more affinity for London or Cambridge than I have for Glasgow or Cardiff and I don’t see why I should pretend I do. (That said, I’m just generally a very unpatriotic person. The only time I’m ever remotely patriotic is when the World Cup is on, lol. I suppose I’m one of those ‘citizens of the world’!)

Meow! I’m a third generation Canadian but my looks basically show that I have Italian and Hungarian decent. I asked my folks about it and said, you’re Canadian. Basically that’s true, unless you were physically born in that country and then come over. Other than that the country you are born in is your place of origin. 🙂 Not denying it or acknowledging it. Unless the question gets asked: If you weren’t born in ‘Kung Pao’ 😉 then where we’re your parents from?
Besides that getting all dolled up for the Red Carpet event is interesting… can’t wait to see the shenanigans that will unfold and they will to be sure 🙂

Well, if you’d want to get technical about it, I would call Sun an Asian-American. I don’t know if Brooke has American citizenship or just has a work visa, but I would say Sun is more American than Brooke.
Girls talking about breast size are always fun conversations. Where are they going that they are dressing up? Is there some kind of show before the PPV they are doing?
Hey Ken, Brooke’s been an American citizen for a little while now, right before she started training to be a pro wrestler. The girls are getting dolled up for the premiere of Club Redline, in which Sabrina is the special guest host and all of Rival Angels is invited.
Ken – I doubt she’d be on a work visa, as it’s goddamn near impossible for an Aussie to get an American work Visa – Trust me on this, I am one, trying to get one!
Though, on the other side of the coin, one of the few working visas you can get as an Aussie going into the US is a Professional Sports Visa, but I’m pretty sure that is on a “Per Event” basis unless you get specifically hired by a team – and You certainly wouldn’t be able to get one as a wrestler in developmental, you’d only be able to get one once you were a pro, and gainfully employed by a Corporation handling wrestling, with Rival Angels being the example here.
Oh yeah, And Albone? I know you’re not saying it seriously, it was just one character insulting another, but please, don’t do what many people do and take that convict line seriously? Most people are descended from willing immigrants, Mostly Irish, but with some Chinese and other assorted south east Asian people, American and English, with some other assorted Europeans. The very last convict transport was forty-odd years before Australia became a proper colony, and people with convict ancestors are rare as hen’s teeth.
Not saying anything about what your characters or yourself are saying, but just getting it out there for yourself and people to know.

No offense taken whatsoever, in terms of level of offense, It’d be like me mixing up California and Florida, it’s no harm.
As for the Visa thing – I wish It was different, believe me! I’m running myself ragged to try and get in. Though, in the situation in the comic, it wouldn’t be hard to get around, as you can get an Immigration visa if you’re sponsored by a family member, for example, or if you’re sponsored by a company.

It’s true: being Asian does give her an advantage in the “sexy” category. However, that Australian accent doesn’t hurt either….
Yes, the Australian accent would help, if it weren’t wrapped around all of the foolish or even dumb things that come out of Brooke’s mouth… 😉
I’m an Asian American dude and I know Asian American people, some really PC Asian Americans, even. I have never heard of anyone flipping out over being called just an “Asian.” It’s a fairly tame, usually accepted shorthand for Asian American. I’ve heard of them getting pissed off at:
– People using “Chinese” as a catch-all for all Asians (Ex: “Hey, Chinese guy.” “I’m Japanese/Thai/Filipino/etc” “Whatever. You all look the same to me!”).
– Being called “Oriental”. (It’s an outdated term like “Negro” in America. It is, however, accepted in the UK.)
– Implications that they’re not from America (Ex: “Where are you from?” “Oh, I’m from Philadelphia.” “No, where are you REALLY from.”)
– Implications that they can’t speak English
– Faux-Asian gibberish (Ex. “Ching chong ching chong”, Brooke’s “Kung Pao” comment)
– Being called “Exotic”
I still like your comic, it’s just that this quirk of Sun’s doesn’t ring true for me. Though the RA world is a world where wrestling’s real, so rules regarding politically correctness in this world could be all kinds of crazy for all I know.
