Gabrielle is mad at Sabrina and sticking to her by involving her BFF, Sun. And Sun seems like she’s down for it! (I guess she’s still upset.) What will be the RIGHT ‘motivation’ for Sun to collect on Sabrina’s bill? Will this play into Sun’s recent match with Xtina?

Come to think of it, between the pixie cut, Xtina’s pigtails and Krystin’s “I don’t so much style as occasionally remember to wash” mane, I’m not so sure bad hair isn’t a REQUIREMENT in a TV champ.

Well, Cocoa kinda dropped Sabrina…quite literally, if I’m not mistaken. Randy Orton style backbreaker.
Okay…I can see this since SUN is putting “work over friendship” in this case.
I mean sometimes you have to seperate work from friendship. I know that too well.
I know she may be still mad at Sabrina, but even she should see the insanity in all of this, right ? 🙁

I mean it’s my guess that Sabrina came back for her and the others. Yet now, I guess it’s true what they say… “You can’t go back home again.”
Boy, I hope Sabrina gives this….TRAITOR what’s coming to her so that some senses can be knocked back in to her mind.
Oh what nonsense. She’s a wrestler. She’s paid to fight other wrestlers, (which, last I checked, includes Sabrina,) and sometimes those fights get a little more serious than just pinning the other girl’s shoulders to the mat for a three count.
Sun’s been asked to teach Ultragirl to keep her Ultraego in check, simple as. Wisely, Sun’s expecting to be compensated for such efforts.
Last I looked, Sun is already on the payroll and contracted to wrestle. She best not get out of line or I’ll be schooling her.
Sun likes to negotiate. As far as she’s concerned, you can’t start too high or too low.
Sun is now Gabby’s personal Viper Dragon aka Sun Wong Orton.
They may have had a spat, but… I don’t think Sun would turn like this. Got a feeling she’s spotted an angle to work here.
I was totally right about Gabby, though. Petty tyrant all the way. Think I’m starting to outgrow my ideas of the character from past chapters and internalize the idea of Gabby as ‘Typical WWE-Style Heel Boss,’ so I guess the burden of expectations doesn’t last too long after all…
“You always hurt the ones you love.” Sabrina couldn’t stand a “tainted win” because it didn’t suit her massive ego or her desperate need for everyone to love her.
A “petty tyrant” would have just sacked her. Gabrielle’s trying to do what’s best for Rival Angels, and is giving a talented young performer a second chance, (third, really, if you think about the wedding catfight.)
Someone had the theory that it might have been me that Gabrielle was asking. I could have done it, (and would have done so, had I been suitably “motivated”,) but the message simply would have been muddled. It would have been seen as simple revenge, when in fact the goal is to make it clear to Sabrina that however special she thinks she is, (and in truth, might well be,) she is not qualified to second-guess management. That message is best delivered by a friend.
As for the angle, Sun’s been about her career from day one. It’s fair to say that carrying out this request is going above and beyond the call, and while the message is one Sabrina needs to get, it’s only fair that she be compensated for it, and Gabrielle seems entirely fair-minded.
How is doing the right thing an ego issue ? 🙁
I mean the wedding could be explained as Brooke’s fault mostly and Sabrina going on with it because Brooke forced it upon her.
If Sun does really care about Sabrina, then she should’ve said NO.
I can almost tell this will make things worse for everyone involved. 🙁
You need quite a massive ego to assume you have an unchallenged monopoly on knowing what “the right thing” is, especially when the person whose judgement you’re overriding is A) someone actually paid to determine that, unlike you, and B) your boss.
Sabrina wasn’t “forced” into anything. Brooke had stopped fighting when Sabrina chose to retaliate. Took two to tango, there.
I suspect Sun does care about Sabrina, (and if she doesn’t, that’s no one’s business but hers,) but even good friends need tough love now and then.
Refusing to cheat in a competitive sport isn’t about ego, it is undoubtedly the right thing to do.
Ask any official sporting body and they will tell you the same thing.
The fact that wrestling is the exception only proves how corrupt the sport is/can be. Having someone so publicly stand against it should be openly commended, not punished.
Gabrielle is wrong on an epicly morale level, and Sun is no better for backing her.
She wasn’t cheating, nor was she being asked to. It was apparent to the punters in the cheap seats that she wasn’t having what Vince was doing. Meanwhile, this created a no-win situation that needed resolving. Gabrielle, through Marina, acted to resolve that situation, but because that resolution didn’t sufficiently appease the Ultraego, Sabrina put her own perceived good over the good of the company’s.
If Sabrina had accepted the victory due to the actions of an obviously biased official, then that is cheating. She choose not cheat in a professional sport, any other sporting body would commend her for her actions.
Gabrielle was demanding that Sabrina cheat in a professional, competitive sport. If she did that in Boxing she would be shut down by now.
Erm, no. Cheating is breaking the rules. If she was in on Vince’s plan, that would have been cheating. To use a WWE example, you’re saying that Daniel Bryan cheated because referee Scott Armstrong counted the pin fast.
That is why bent refs are such a danger. When the arbiters of fairness are themselves not acting fairly, everything is thrown out of whack. Gabrielle was requiring Sabrina to pin her opponent in an admittedly non-ideal situation so that they could get out of said situation and remedy the matter without said bent ref mucking things up.
The issue with choosing Sun is that she already did this to Sabrina once before. Sabrina got over it quickly and accepted the lesson that time.
Sun problem this time is going to be different. A) She doesn’t know about the Yoshi engagement attempt (nor Sabrina reaction to it) B) Sabrina still recovering over the Cocoa betrayal. C) She did it once before.
Sabrina isn’t going to be able to take this lesson from her (especially if Sun lets her personal emotion spill in it). It would explode into something that Sun really can’t handle. Sun thinks that she is a better wrestler than Sabrina. The truth might be rather humbling, now.
Sun best move is to use her Damage, Inc teammates for the beatdown, not the Upstarts. That’s the safest way to convey this message. Sun, though, likes the hard road, looking at the VI.
p.s. It is a perfect chance for the Golden Girl to sneak into the number 1 friend spot. Sun is going to leave the door wide open, and I think Sammie is going to take it. I hope she can handle Sun’s jealousy, though.
Ok, first of all, I don’t need to sneak my way into being peoples friends, I’ve got my girls back and it doesn’t matter to me how high I may or may not rank, that isn’t a requirement of me being a friend. The only sneaking I may partake in is the sneaking of cookies from the jar.
And second, there is nothing Sun has got that I can’t handle, in or out of the ring.
So there.

I won’t say whether or not I think Gabrielle is a tyrant (I love reading your guys thoughts on it) but Gabrielle has the tough task of herding cats. You might remember, she’s the only one able to put a lid on Hell’s Belles until the locker room finally stepped up and while she accepts mistakes as a part of life, she doesn’t take insubordination, neat or messy, lightly.
She keeps trying to wield the big stick, she might want to get used to it.
Some people around here might be inclined to push back.

You don’t really have to comment on whether or not Gabby’s a tyrant. You’re doing a great job of showing us. It’s very effective. She’s making ridiculous decisions, and when someone else steps up and makes the right decision FOR her, she punishes that, because the important thing is not effective solutions, but the fact that it wasn’t what she ordered. That’s a petty tyrant, plain and simple.
Also, I’m not sure what you mean by saying she kept a lid on Hell’s Belles. They were completely uncontrolled.
Agree… this kind of reaction seems… over the top considering what happened. Yeah, I know Sun was miffed, but to be willing to stab Sabrina in the back with a smile on her face? All I can say is that if she’s really planning on going through with it, then there’s no point in reconciliation — this is IMO one of those unforgivable things. It would also kill any and all sympathy I had for Sun I had left and I’m finding myself rapidly running out of people to root for.

If all Sun has to do is teach Ultrafool how to wrestle in front of the thousands (and thousands) of Ultramaniacs who think she can, she should ask for more than a shot at the TV title.
What’s Sun’s motivation? The exposure of the most overrated and formerly protected “wrestler” ever, proving once and for all the name on the marquee says “Wrestling” and not “Popularity Contest” or “Cirque de Soleil”, and eventually the return of the Rival Angels World Championship to the eyeballs of every RA fan so its existence can be confirmed.
Maybe then we can see who is the real Sabrina Mancini.

I was given a shot at the title because I’m that good. I took the org to new heights by all measures once I earned the title. Yes, earned! The fans love me and pack the house to see me, to buy my stuff. Of course they’ll buy other talent’s merch too once they’re in the mood. So we all benefit.

Forget the TV title shot for Sun, Sun gets a World Heavyweight Title shot for beating Sabrina up in the name of GabbY! So make it happen! SUN VS RUA, SUN VS RUA, SUN VS RUA!
Besides, the main elite title should be the focal point instead of a secondary title. This comic is like Dean Ambrose or Curtis Axel being more important champions rather then Alberto Del Rio or Randy Orton/Daniel Bryan. lol
Gabrielle decides who fights when and Champ is right that she’d fight every night if she had her way. Brenda is the Anderson Silva of Rival Angels, a smart champ with longevity and considering that she won Most Popular Angel a few years back (for my part, completely unbiased) that speaks to her connection with the fans.
Meta-speaking…RA has always been about Sun, Brooke, Krystin and Sabrina. The story I want to tell is their early years (yep, I know how it ends) and them being in the title picture just doesn’t fit.
However, that doesn’t mean we’re not going to see the World title. In fact, I think the World Title is defended at the next PPV, of course, WHO is fighting…well. XD
I’ll give Brenda a fitting swan-song.

You know, I’ve given the Strappy Italian Boots a lot of love over the years, but this just has me facepalming. Has Gabi ever MET Sabrina? Or anyone, really? You can only make your point the hard way for so long before it just starts to feel like abuse. And sending her ‘bestie’ (who coined that term? They need ten minutes in the ring with Rampage, hardcore) out to school her? Yeah, there’s no way THAT’s going to blow up in everyone’s faces…
If Gabi REALLY wants to send Sabrina a message, she needs to hit her from a new angle. “So, Miss Mancini, you don’t want to play the game? You don’t like how my referees call the matches? Fine, then let’s see YOU do it. For your next six matches, you’re the ref, not a participant. Have fun.”
I like the sentiment, but Sabrina’s not a ref for the same reason she’s not unemployed: She’s too valuable as a performer.
