Oh man, she won! With Kat still out, Sabrina had to get the upper hand and then wrap Jennifer up before she knew what happened. If you blinked, you might’ve missed it. As we can see from the reactions of certain people in Sabrina’s life, the emotions run the spectrum. I think Chloe especially has some strong feelings on the matter.

Panel 2 (ranhei): great execution.. but I really have to question here, I haven’t seen an “Ultrakick” nor “Ultrasplash” to Jennifer Needles.. then the pin 1….2….3. I don’t know but I kinda underestimate on that move.. how come Jennifer Needles didn’t kickout? is it a first time got hit on that move or something?

This was sudden! M.G.C. does have a point in that this is not one of UltraGirl’s regular finishers. Has she added something new to her arsenal, or has this been there all along? The Spear does flow nicely from the facedown they had on Monday.
I also agree with ps2kid. Sabrina’s celebration is going to be short-lived as she gets the boots (and whatever else Chloe brings to the ring with her) from the Hell’s Belles.

 Pretty nice moves Sab, realy.  Probably Needle have been stunned by those last moves, and they was both very tire, the match was pretty long.
I have to say this though.. “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini win here, is kinda.. honestly.. looking at panel 2(ranhei): 1….2….3 Jennifer Needles was just shock. kinda late 3 second to react for the kickout I say..

Nah, Needles was woozy from the spear and the ranhei finished the job. Good combination of moves. Sabrina moves on and it’s going to be funny seeing the full reactions from the Hells Belles and “Useless” Brooke.

MGC, while Sabrina didn’t hit Jen with the Ultrakick or Ultrasplash, we did see her Superkick Kat. Jen was beaten down enough for the surprise Ranhei. As you can see from the youtube clips, they’re sudden and effective if the opponent is unprepared. Wouldn’t proper etiquette be for Jen to shake Sabrina’s hand? Jen’s the one who lost so it would be on her, wouldn’t it? Okay, you talked me into it, Sabrina shakes Jen’s hand next update. It doesn’t matter if you win by a second or you win by a minute. A win’s a win.

Hey Zodo, glad you liked the update! As for the ranhei, let’s just say that Sabrina has fallen to that move herself in the past (not shown….yet), so she was familiar with it. I see you think that Sabrina is in store for a beatdown. i’m not sure why you guys think that.
You got it, Svan. Remember last page when both girls were facing off with each other? Sabrina got the first move in and therefore the win. Those last moves that Jen took, plus the exertion in trying to pin Sabrina’s shoulders to the mat for the three count caught up with her.
Right on, Picky….Sabrina got a good combo going, so to speak. Sabrina does move on and I even updated the TV tournament page which can be found by going to the upper right, under Calendar or by clicking here.

Very cool finish. And I do concur with the point that the match ender doesn’t HAVE to be the usual finisher. Ricky Steamboat is a great example here — how many of his marquis matches were won with a small package, or in that memorable match with Ric Flair, that chicken-wing turned to a pin? Or Flair himself, for that matter… the figure four was certainly his finisher, but as often as not he won the big money matches with something else. The right move, at the right time, can make for a very believable ending.
I have to say I have watched a lot of wrestling and never seen that move before. That is pretty cool, has Sabrina ever wrestled in Japan or been trained by someone who has?
Major victory here, I’m predicting Sabrina goes all the way in the tournament now. However, after winning that title, she will have a huge target on her ass.
The updated TV Title Tournament page shows Sara Valentine from my home turf: Seattle! That explains quite a lot, actually.
I feel kinda sorry for Needles. I think Brina’s gonna make it out of the ring in one piece, but de Sade will hammer on Jen for losing. The question: will Kat side with de Sade (leaving an opening in HB) or with her “friend” Needles?

I love that move, the Ranhei, first time i saw that, pretty cool. Nice combo from Sabrina. I will keep in mind the Ranhei, maybe i will make a finisher similar in TGW.
This is a match that left me feeling almost as tired and beat up as Sabrina… a really grueling string of episodes.
The panels convey a ’second wind’ for Sabrina; I personally read the ep as she had a moment of clarity which needed no thought and left no delay: take Jennifer out through a kinetic, head on assault. I can’t say why the ep gives me that feeling; it just does.
The other Upstarts’ reactions are of interest… Sun is joyful, Krystin is relieved, and Brooke ( must have had a quickie with Michael ) looks… well, I’m not sure if it’s shock or relief. Brooke looks odd here, her eyes are drawn as if she’s tilted her head sideways a little but her chin isn’t.
The fans are estatic, I would think there is hardly anyone not on their feet now.
Hmmm… Chloe isn’t happy about this. At all. What’s she gonna do? Her first impulse is no doubt to go whap Sabrina with all that stuff in her bag… but I suspect the charged up fans would riot if that happened.Â

While innovative moves are neat, one of the things that is a foundation of Wrasslin is that each performer has a special set of moves they use to set up, then finish the match. As a wrestler gains popularity, the fans pop when the see these moves.
Every wrestler from the mid-card and up does this, exhibiting a number of signature moves, and finishers. Then when they get to really big pay per view matches, having an opponent kick out of a finisher makes the match even bigger. (though a certain Mister NoSellaMania takes it to an extreme)
Since Sabrina is on a meteoric rise, I think it’s OK to reveal a few new moves, but she should still have a core of moves that she finishes with, Otherwise she’s just going to be a Spot Queen, with no real theme.
Adam, you won’t have to wait too much longer to see what happens next.
Hey Adon! Yeah, I felt the need to change it up just a little bit with this finish. Sabrina still hit her Ultrakick (on Kat) which I think is a marquee move. Great examples too of some excellent wrestlers changing it up to win.
Ken, you and I both know that Sabrina or whoever holds that TV title is going to have a HUGE target on their back. More on that to come. I’m glad I could pull out a new move for you! Sabrina hasn’t been to Japan (yet) but she had some great coaching in developmental which we’ll see more of in the future.
I’m glad you noticed, Picky, the update in the TV tournament page. Seattle has a lot of cool things going for it, including the punk rocker, sassy Sara Valentine.
Hehe Jamie….well, who says both won’t happen? De Sade doesn’t look kindly on failures and another question is how much she’s going to blame Kat in Jen’s loss.
Vanessa, the Ranhei is a great move to use when your opponent is off guard or wobbly. I hope its a good finisher for you!
Hey RDF! I’m glad you got caught up in the match, that makes me very happy. You’re on the mark with Sabrina’s thinking, or rather her reacting instinctively, quickly. Great observations about the crowd and reaction shots. I will reveal that Brooke is more shock, ‘I can’t BELIEVE it,’ in her face. I actually had dialogue for these panels but I decided against it.
Chloe is NOT happy and what is she going to do? We will get to find out shortly.
Right on Zodo. Wrestlers get over by having some familiarity to them, which is why finishers and catch phrases are so important. Never fear though, Sabrina won’t be a spot queen. She’s got her arsenal and I think what’s more profound than having a new move introduced is having a familiar move countered or missing. But, these things have to be used sparingly or they get tired pretty quick. So, we’re on the same wavelength. All of the angels have their moves but every once in a while, we’re going to see something unexpected.
