Somebody’s awfully cranky but it’s given Sun more excitement then she’s used to at the Choco-Dip Experience. And Sun thought it was going to be a boring Wednesday evening. As Dawn Ellison would say (remember? The ringside announcer with the GOLD word balloons?), ‘Business is about to pick up.’ This bit is important to Sun’s backstory, or we wouldn’t be seeing it. HOW it’s important is the real question. Something following an answer to come on Friday!

In case you missed it, Canada’s homepage for sports, SLAM Sports interviewed me and now have it up on their website. Covering hockey, baseball and football, you might be wondering what a sports site is doing reviewing a webcomic. Check out the link to find out!  I think you’ll find a few new nuggets of information concerning Rival Angels. Check it out and let me know what you think.
And so we get a look into Sun’s home life as a teenager. Messy room, single Mom and minimum wage job at the ice cream parlor. And, we can’t overlook the usual humor and love for wrestling that we’ve come to know. As we’re about to find out, Sun’s life is about to change forever.
Big thanks to Justin Riley for this story. Originally, it wasn’t going to be seen for a while. I have an ending to the current Rival Angels storyline, which I affectionately refer to as ‘Season 1.’ I know how Season 2 is going to start but I wanted a break inbetween seasons. So, I asked Justin, ‘I’d really love for you to write a Sun origin story to keep people coming back during the break.’ I sweetened the deal with fast food and the promise that there would be more where that came from. He accepted and wrote a really great story. So great, and the love of Sun so strong in reader-dom, that I had to add it to the current storyline. Sun’s not a bit player and you, the readers, know it. With what we have in store for Sun coming up, now was a great time to see our ‘Lil Dragon’s’ humble beginnings.
Enjoy the story and definitely let Justin and I know what you think.

Big thanks to D-Rod over at Shadowgirls comic for the nice plug and welcome to everyone visiting from there! Â For those of you that don’t know, Shadowgirls is a comic about a mother and daughter and their battle against some seriously evil power. Â Season 1 is just wrapping up so now is a great time to check it out. Â I got to met D-rod and Dave last year at Wizard World and in addition to a great comic, some very cool guys.Â
When I put the images up in Sabrina’s locker, I thought they’d show up a little better, but alas, they’re impossible to see! A quick rundown of who inhabits Sabrina’s locker:
Pictures of Sun and Sabrina
Karl Urban as the new Bones in Star Trek
The Dreamer’s Alan Warren
I have to admit there are times when writing Sun is a guilty pleasure, like in panel 1. XD But we also see Sun….lying? Bending the truth? Feeling like a bit of a gray area.
And that leads us to the big question of Sun’s! What is it? What could it be? Are we going to find out Monday? Nope. On Monday, we take a special look at one of the most important characters in Rival Angels. Written by Justin Riley (who is constantly helping me write and edit on a weekly basis), Monday begins Chapter 10, the Origin of ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong!
Voting Incentive! Vote to see a sneak preview of Page 208 and the first page of the Sun origin!
When your mentor says you’re doing something right, you’re doing something right. That’s a pretty big deal to get dropped on to Sabrina’s lap. Sabrina just didn’t win a match in a tournament, she also won herself some respect and some higher expectations. Does she really know what’s coming down the road for her?
Hmm, what’s that bit about Marina going on about not being, ‘trashy?’
A Sun sighting! You remember when Sun was hooting and hollering in support of Sabrina? Well, she’s not going to let Sabrina in on that little bit and instead give her a proper scolding. She does ask Sabrina a fair question though. Did Sabrina get the notion that she has to prove herself to people like Monica out of her system?
We’ll know for sure on Friday!
