We have a very strong showing by Monica Rumble, you might even say that she’s overachieving and you can tell that Kat Smith is NOT used to be treated like this. However, Kat is able to turn it around towards the end. Can she get the win?! If she can, Chloe won’t have to enact that plan of hers that she’s hatching at the end of the last page (page 119).

No way it’s over. Mighty Monica Rumble has more fight in her than one clothesline will take out. What she gets for celebrating a whip to the corner so early in the match though. All things considered, I think that quick pin is actually part of the plan.
Dunno why, but what I’m seeing is a major setup coming.
1: Monica tosses the Wild Kat off.
2: Kat slaps the taste out of Miss Rumble’s mouth and then bails out of the ring.
3: Monica chases and Chloe acts like she’s going to get involved to distract the ref.
4: Jennifer cheapshots Monica and sets up a fast double team slam of some sort while the ref is distracted.
I just can’t see them passing up such an easy setup and it’s a good time for it.
Great opening action. Nice power shown so far. I like it.
It’s not going to be end like this. One, it will make Monica look weak. Two, it’s the main event and surely the main event is not going to be a squash match. Let alone in some kind of an important championship tournament.
By the way, what kind of wrestling kick that Monica use in panel 3 ? Is that Shining Wizard ? Or MVP’s Drive By Kick ?

Panel 2: Tha! Hell.. I never saw that kind of snapmare before, a snapmare usually use, as light damage not a powerful damage.. looking at Panel 2.. that’s not a normal snapmare, that really snap..by looking at “Mighty” Monica Rumble’s form, she used great power move.. superb Monica…
Panel 3: NOOOOOOO!!!! YAHHAHHAHAH… Just kidding… that kick.. with great power comes painful kick.. damn..look at “Power-Gal” Katherine Smith as if she got hit with a steelchair.. I like this panel.. “Power-Gal”Katherine Smith in pain… Yahhahahaha… I never expect “Power-Gal” Katherine Smith will be in this situation..Dammit, never expect “Power-Gal” Katherine Smith got this pain..
One question.. why no “ahhh!” on “Power-Gal” Katherine Smith.. screaming in pain..

Panel 4-5: Irish whip..I really wish “Mighty” Monica Rumble, uses all her force on that Irish whip. is kinda like the force used you can hear that bam!!and usually the torso hits the turnbuckle. or when “Power-Gal” Katherine Smith turned, she’ll crush down to the ground..
Panel 6: “Power-Gal” Katherine Smith, just endured the pain on her back, and quickly retailate with a vicious clothesline..that clothesline isn’t ordinary.. looking at “Power-Gal” Katherine Smith’s angle, that force was power.. “Clothesline from Hell”.. or Clothesline from Hell’s Belle..
Panel 7: 1…2… Kickout . Jeff? Kat wins, Kat wins? no no… Match will still go on.. for sure..
I have to say.. Both are Fantastic wrestler.. “Mighty” Monica Rumble and “Power-Gal” Katherine Smith.. great for a main event.. excellent.. if “Mighty” Monica Rumble continue her power brawl move, she might go to number 5 of my Rival Angels favorite…

Also, you should consider a wwe crossover or something, like they get a big break in some event or trounament against the girls from other companys, which could be really interesting and unique. Like were the girls are pitted against mabye some diva/knockout similar.  ie.  brooke v Beth   Mickie V. Sabrina,  Krystin V Melina or something…

I agree with the general consensus: this isn’t over yet. Even if the last match did go a little long, this match won’t be this short to make up for it.

Nice clothesline, but the cover is too quick. monica kicks out but Kat will stay in charge.
As for the kick, that looks to me to be like Samoa Joe’s kick to the back on a sitting opponent. Just a solid *WHACK* across the back instead of a fancy move.
As for Monica’s power, remember my comparison to Taz or Rick Steiner? Because of her height, she’s got dense muscle and a low center of gravity. It gives her massive leverage to go with raw power. That adds more impact via the torque and more ability to add brute force from what she does.
Also, just noticing the last panel. Look at Monica’s arms even more than her serious expression. Her hands are under the Wild Kat. This may not be just a kick out. Miss Smith may go airborne.
Salazen: I guess you’re right!
Monica’s to do list:
1) Send Kat flying up.
2) Pull knees and let Kat land on her shins.
3) Kick up to send Kat flying over her head.
4) Roll backwards across Kat into a pinfall position.
You know, JackAce… I want to see that in a real wrestling match. That would look AWESOME!
Salazen, as ever you have some great ideas and observations in this match. You’re on the nose with the kick to Kat’s back, and the comparison to Rick Steiner/Taz is solid. Monica’s got that low center of gravity with some muscle, not to mention an overarrogant/overconfident Katherine Smith doing some of the job for her. “Mighty” Monica Rumble is awesome! I’m thrilled you’re enjoying the match!
ps2kid, we’ll find out in the next panel if Monica can kick out or not.
 But, this being the main event, it would be kind of cheap wouldn’t it? The kick, as Salazen pointed out is the kind that Samoa Joe might deliver to a sitting opponent.

MGC, glad you’re enjoying the match thus far and glad to see your support for Kat is undiminished. That snapmare of Monica’s is no joke! Plenty of ol snap in it! Jeff might be a little eager to see Katherine win, because if she wins, he’ll have picked the winner of a match correctly! More Monica Rumble? I think it’s doable. Chloe and Jennifer are never too far away, they’ll be lending their support before too long.
Hey Adam, glad you’re digging the story! Always good to see you posting and I think you’re doing an awesome job with the Unique Diva/Beth site. I’d love to do a crossover with WWE, but pesky copyright laws prevent that. I MAY have better luck with some indy ladies or even some TNA talent, but we’ll see how that goes, but I really would like to do it.
A. Mouse, we’ll see in the next panel if this match will continue, but you’ve shown good instincts before, so need to doubt them now. Kat Nap= LOL
Jamie, that’s a solid prediction. It’s going to come down to how much Monica was rocked by that clothesline.
JackAce, that’s an amazing sequence, and would be awesome to see pulled off. I may have to write this one down for future use…..

My favorite is panel six, you can see how off balance Monica is as she falls.
The art in the comic started out great and is improving from there, I especially notice the shading: this is a subtle effect that helps to convey a sense of realism, almost as if there really is a Rival Angels wrestling league and we’re reading the comic adaptation.
I like how the sound effects have a texture; the ”Brak!” in panel three is a good example. We know exactly how they sound, great achievement for a visual medium.
I don’t think the match is anywhere near over, Monica can still recover. I wonder if she’ll use her left arm to hook on Kat’s left thigh and use the strength in her waist and her right arm to flip Kat over on her back…

Actually, yes. They can. They’ve got the whole ‘all rights reserved’ thing going on and unless you show it’s a parody and therefor protected, you can’t use them. Websites and wrestling themed MMOs have been shut down for using WWE pics. YouTube is constantly pulling things down from their selections because they weren’t approved. Some things can slide, but others can’t.
Now… if he happend to draw a blonde in a faux crown posing -like- Beth does on the ropes but called her something else, that could slide. It’s not Beth. It’s… Andrea.
There is, of course, another solution:
We simple need to make Rival Angels so successful that the WWE Divas come asking for guest appearances…
