Sabrina’s not wrong about a hold that utilizes the ropes. It’s like being caught in the Tarantula, a submission wouldn’t count and the ref actively works to break or at least count down the hold. Oh, that tricky Cocoa. 😛

its a nasty trick, being hooked the ref has free sabrina for her own safty so she can’t 5 count coco yet. This made me want Taijiri back on my tv right away!

Hmm… I will probably come across as a Joshi-mark, (which I am), but in Japan the refs aren’t usually portrayed as the half-blind get knocked out if you breathe hard on them types. That said, there is a good deal more leeway when it comes to cheating. It boils down to the ol’ 5 count. That is, you can do something flagrantly illegal in the ring but only until the ref’s count hits five. So in other words, you CAN waffle someone with a chair in front of the ref, but you have to do it quick. It should be noted that chairs are seldom match-enders there. Similar, outside the ring is pretty much no-man’s land… you can cheat to your heart’s content out there until you get back in the ring, and the count is generally to 20 so you have a fair bit of time. That said, repeated and flagrant cheating will generally cause the ref to call a DQ regardless of count and interestingly there is one rule that is similar to those in Mexico… unmasking a masked wrestler is an immediate DQ — those who do it are more interested in humiliating their opponent than the win column there.
It’s funny you bring that up. There is going to be a discussion about the outcome of this match, and the part the ref played in it between two particular wrestlers. 😉
I hope Cocco will not ruff up Sabrina too much with that move. 🙁

Hopefully Cocoa is careful though as she doesn’t want to get herself DQ’ed here. As long as the referee gets Sabrina out of the ropes its technically ok to do a sleeper hold over the ropes? I’ve never seen anyone get in trouble for doing it before…but there’s a first time for everything. lol
This sleeper in the ropes is kinda new for me too. I’ve seen it before, but never in a sanctioned match, so to speak so this ref is flying a bit blind. Is a DQ coming up for Ms Rococo?
Well, seeing as a sleeper is a hold, and being in the ropes is supposed to force a release of the hold, I would say not allowed. If you want to argue about the notion that Cocoa is outside of the ring, it is definitely true that Sabrina is INSIDE the ring. So my take? Five count right now, no break a DQ, repeated attacks on Sabrina while tangled would warrant a ref’s discretion DQ. A canny heel knows how to abuse the rules and push them to their limits without getting disqualified… let us see if Cocoa is one of them.

Technically, Cocoa is out of the ring – which should start a 10-count but as the point was made the ref is busy trying to be girl scout and untie the ropes. And I know this is all for drama… so Mo Chen will shut up.
I want to see Mo Chen.. in Sabrina’s shoes.. hahaha..

I gotta disagree on that. Tajiri’s Tarantula, or Bret Hart’s Ringpost figure four only ever got the 5 count. Of course, the ref hasn’t even started a count yet…!

That’s too much power. And she’s not handling the responsibility that comes with that power well. Spider-Man, she is not.

If I was Brina, now that I’ve got one arm free, I’d start attacking the under-arm area of Cocoa while she has that headlock on. There’s a really good pressure point down there and if you hit it hard enough, she’d effectively give Cocoa’s arm a charlie horse
