Chapter: Chapter 19 - The Big Night
Characters: Brooke Lennox, Monica Rumble
Is anyone surprised that Brooke is doing so well? Or maybe that she hasn’t blown her lead yet? I don’t know that anyone is surprised by Monica’s tenacity but you have to think that it can’t hold out forever. Brooke’s shooting for a submission. Can she get Mighty Monica to tap out? We’ll find out more on Wednesday!

Looks like old Brooke showed up in the last frame and that she pay for on Wednesday, this heating up and is anybody’s game still. Depending on what happens on Weds will Amanda have to insert herself in the match or let Brooke try to fix it herself?

its not offteni agree with Jeff but this has turned to an battle of atrition the on theing monica conuld nt let ths slip in to as scrappy and tough of a fighter she is monica is hurting bad and that is going to take alot of pepper out of her chilli as it were

Once again the classic mistake has been made. Never ever give your opponent a chance to breath. Well unless your pushing your bottom into their face. Insert Evil Laughter.
Once again it seems Brooke’s getting overconfident again and will eventually cost her i’m sure. as for getting the submission win it’ll be tough. faces generally only submit to holds by someone above them on the pecking order (thus the severe lack of faces submitting at the main event level- not counting the “oh face passed out from the pain- heel wins!” thing) as Brooke and Monica are at the same level more or less this one will go down to a pinfall finish i believe.
on the other hand equal level faces can get their submissions to work on equal level heels- cause heels are cowardly and weak and stuff 😉 so Brooke’s not out of the woods yet. still she actually maintained an advantage for an entire update now. this could be a record. baby steps Brooke, baby steps.

it’s seems.. Brooke trying hard to hard to be a technical wrestler.. but give her credit.. she did listen what I suggest.. and now going on Monica’s back.. good for her.. and yes.. it’s killing me seeing Monica like this..
Panel 3: is that a submission move.. I didn’t know it’s a submission move..
Panel 5: hmm… I do think this move, is for the shoulders and arm.. not back.. maybe Brooke got it wrong.
Brooke should go for a camel clutch.. or sharpshooter, even boston crab.. if she wants to give Monica pain..
You can use the backbreaker as a quick, hard impact move by rolling them off the knee and covering for pin, but Brooke is really pouring on extra pressure on Monica’s already hurt back – figuring she could make her quit.
So, it’s impact followed by pressure.
Brooke had a pretty good game going. The basics work and she doesn’t have to overly worry about technique details. But she may pay for backing off in the last panel. I can’t wait to find out. Darn these commercial breaks! lol
jabberwocky, Amanda is definitely the ace in the hole, but even she couldn’t help Brooke from losing to Monica last time. Wednesday will definitely have a big outcome on this match. 😉

jpiv, that’s a good point about faces and submitting. That seems to be something that has stood the test of time, them passing out rather than tapping, unless they’re that outgunned like when Taz first met Angle. As much as both girls would love to make the other tap, they both are very keen on pinning the shoulders for the 3 count. Just a matter of who gets there first. I think you’re right about the record breaking 1-update advantage that Brooke has held. XD
Thanks MGC! I like to vary the match length so that a finish isn’t predictable. But I do understand the frustration of a longer match, especially when I can only update 3X a week. Brooke’s fighting with some instinct here, which is probably why she’s pausing at the end of the update. XD Those are good moves to suggest for Brooke and I think a bearhug would be good too. XD
LOL Champ! Brooke’s doing well by keeping things simple, but it looks like she ran out of moves there at the end of the update. 😛 Next update will be pretty telling for the rest of this match.

Great match so far! But… is it just me, or does it look like in the second panel Brooke’s hand is actually coming out of Monica’s ass? Might be a little too inside… >.>
Crotch lift for the scoop slam but ya I think Monica’s other leg makes it look awkward…
Brooke has been working Monica’s back for two straight panels now with submission holds and power moves. Monica refuses to submit but aside from scratching Brooke’s eyes she hasn’t escaped a back bending submission yet. Brooke has had Monica at her mercy with the over the knee back breaker and standing surfboard but released her. Not enough killer instinct on Brooke’s part and she’ll pay for it. Even so I think Monica’s back will give out in the end.
Jericho reference? I thought it was a Danielson reference XD
I expected Brooke’s… well… essential Brooke-ness to cost her, and here we’re seeing it I reckon. Will Amanda save her? I certainly hope not, because then Brooke won’t learn her lesson!
Here it is – the “blond moment” we’ve been waiting for! Is Brooke trying to think of another move, or is this break in her contract?

Hey Mike! I think Brooke is giving Monica an atomic wedgie alongside the backbreaker. 😛 I used reference for the pose, but then added the farthest leg in afterwards which I think is the reason for the error. Imagine Monica’s left leg isn’t there.
Selcaro, it’s beginning to look like neither girl has very good defense, but have strong offenses. So by that, it would seem to favor the girl on top and who can do the most damage to overwhelm for the pin. We probably won’t see too many counters or fancy escapes for the rest of the match. Brooke could definitely use some more killer instinct.
Stygimoloch, it seems that Amanda has been very well behaved so far. She took a shot meant for Brooke, but other than that, she’s only been supportive. That could change if Brooke gets into trouble, which it’s sort of looking like it might be. But, Brooke will have learned a lot from this match, win, lose or draw but she’s hoping it’s from a winning perspective. 😛
GhostEraser, that’d be funny if a break were in her contract. I think she’s trying to be cute, and show that’s she’s uber casual. She might look casual on her back, getting pinned for the 3 count!
Greetings Everyone I would like to once again comment from way up in the nosebleed section, well beyond the Uecker seats there is a small section of die-hard Widow fans. (all one of us) Actually, things aren’t so bad,fortunately the seats are producing 3d reproductions of the actions occurring on the mat. There is a bit of a time delay but row 334 seat 101 assures me it’s the best he can do.You really gotta hand it to the 81,000 trouble bubble seats that help make up the stadium they are doing a great job of being comfortable and accommodating at the same time. I am also eagerly awaiting Brooke’s head, which I have been assured will land somewhere near me anytime soon, after the Mighty Midget gets done clocking Brooke on Wednesday. These seats, I tell you very strange sometime I see what happens before it happens. odd. Oh I also love the “kid in the candy store look on Brooke’s face after she broke Monica’s back very amusing. Go Brooke! The Black Widow Fan Base is solidly behind you!
Kinda of surprising that Brooke is going for all these semi-submission type moves… Personally I think she’s being a Chiropractor in the ring and just loosening Monica up for her second wind.

Not sure if brooke she hang up the boots yet adn join the pofessional world as a ciropractor looks like she has to iron some of the kinks out in her bed side manor and her techniques are a bit archic at best but its not my place to say really im not a professional
DynaMoChen, you could say that. I like all women, provided they’re not toothpicks like the majority of girls in Hollyweird these days. Other than that, it’s no major feat for me to find a woman attractive. What criteria I look into and getting me to act on that attraction are other matters entirely, but we won’t get into them here.

Well Albone,if there is a Sabrina fan club near us I would have to say they are either on the other side of the arena or not allowed in the stadium. There is only a cold steel wall behind me. It also appears after some effort of trying to get to know some people sitting next to me that the entire section of 334 is actually rabid Black Widow fans. It is our every intention to be heard we are not a minority! Our bizarre signage will litter the ceilings and back walls of section 334!!! We will be HEARD!!!!! Sorry got a bit rabid. Seat 101 makes a wicked Widow venom mixer, good stuff. I’ll have one sent down to you.
