When the going gets tough, Aphrodite gets going. First sign of trouble and she bails out of the ring. Lucky for her, she’s got a 20-second count to get back into the ring. Aphrodite was quick to establish her strength dominance but Monica showed her tenacity in bringing Aphrodite down to size. Aphrodite has shown that what she might lack in actual wrestling knowledge, she makes up for in pure sneakiness. Expect more of the same next update.
Per usual, Justin Riley is always helpful with proofing, commenting and editing Rival Angels but the great zingers on this update were all him. Thanks Justin!! 😀

Nice art, nice writing, The card looks exciting, should be good. Looking foward to this match and Kristin’s, the characters personalities come out during the matchs. Chicago is going to have a con in March, I think. I’ll probably work at that one too, are you planning on coming? Last time I was so tired all I really had energy for was a hi. I don’t know how you can do so many conventions, and keep your sanity. Oh and your lucky, Lora Innes is cute and Intelligent, you won’t have a boring weekend. Take it easy everybody.

That Randy Orton-esque pose Brooke is doing in the third panel suits her well. And Jeff’s “Boo or boobs” line was gold, hehe.

Jeff at his best can match even evil King Lawler and Don West at his..er…best. If you can call it that.
At least the RA booking team haven’t succumbed to the innane and boring “small guy vs huge Andre the giant style guy” match thats trapped Rey Meysterio…yet. Theres still plenty of pages left in RA to screw poor Monica…again..
Love the commentary. More important… I’m getting some ideas about Monica that might be interesting to see played out.

After all, look at that clothesline. Does that remind anyone else of the Dogfaced Grimlin leveling one of the Samoan Swat Team with a Stienerline? Considering her height and her power, I could easily see her pulling out the suplexes and taking advantage of that low center of gravity, just like Rick Steiner.

Then again, with how many times Brooke has smashed her on her head, I could see Monica on her hands and knees and barking too. Poor thing. 😆

Brooke have low wrestling skills, try intimidate Brooke. like overpowering Brooke like in Panel 4.. Monica Rumble must.. overpower Brooke, out wrestle Brooke.. Monica can suplex, powerslam, scoop slam Brooke, used that advantage.
the problem is Monica’s finisher ‘Dominator’ Brooke can easily slip through on the dominator coz of her height. Â I may suggest Monica used a alternate finisher.. maybe a leaping reverse STO.. Â or lifting double underhook sitout facebuster..

i think we may have an “Air” Monica sighting by panel 2 or so of the next update to wipe that grin off Brooke’s not- paying- attention- to- her- opponnent face. then again by the postioning there could be a Monica goes cross country for the baseball slide into Brooke’s back only to get tripped up and face planted by Amanda, while the ref is busy counting out Brooke and that damned viper-ess zooms back into the ring to take advantage. which one shall come out with the edge, monica or brooke? tune in next update. same Brina-time, same Brina-channel.
Drew, it’s true that sometimes its just more fun to cheer for the bad guy, even Brooke! Â Though I think Lora did a good job of casting her in a more positive light then we’re used to in the chapter that she wrote. Â Glad you liked the commentating! Â Justin had a big hand in that too so I will accept the kind words on both of our behalf. XD

Hey Pete! Â Yah, I never really liked Don West at all, but I definitely try to channel Lawler, Jesse Ventura and Bobby Heenan, as well as Gorilla Monsoon and Jim Ross. Yeah the big vs small program has been done to death, but not in Rival Angels! 😛 Â Hopefully, with what I have planned, there’ll be a bit more style to it.
Salazen! I’m very happy that the commentary has gotten over so well with this update. Â Not that I really had any doubts, because Jeff is entertaining. Whooooo! Â Bringing out the Rick Steiner! Â Just like songs and beer, certain wrestlers mark different parts of my life and Rick was there at the very beginning for me back in ’88. Â Even when he was with the Varsity Club, I loved him and his howling, his steiner liner and the all fours thing. And Breaker is a direct homage to the SST, seeing that she’s the 1-Woman-Samoan-Swat-Team.
Nice catch, bd! Â Yeah, Monsoon was one of the very best commentators. Â Him and Brain worked so well together.
jpiv, I think you’re going to enjoy the next update. I like where your predictions are going so it’ll be fun to see how accurate they are. Brooke is definitely showing ‘viper’ qualities, whether in action or in preening. XD

Honestly don’t know who to root for in this match. Monica Rumble seems like a cute underdog type I’d want to cheer on, but she was so annoying and whiny about how the Upstarts wouldn’t help her that I’m kind of hesitant. Babyfaces shouldn’t whine, they should tough it out and keep coming back until they get their own justice. On the other hand Brooke is this slutty heel who can’t really wrestle, but I sort of like her despite that. She’s strong and has potential if she gets serious.<br>
Going outside the ring is a good move, you keep Monica from getting too much momentum, and considering the back-up Brooke has, Monica would be stupid to go out after her. But eventually Brooke has to actually go in and beat Monica. Maybe if she can’t outwrestle her, Brooke can just straight up fight and use her size and strength advantage.

I’d like to see Monica rub a little of Brooke’s face off on the mat. I think Brooke deserves that more than Monica (for now, anyway). Just a little off the top…
