Don’t call it a comeback! After some advice from the head of CCW, Tommy ‘Nomad’ Maxwell, Sun looks like she was worthy of that second shot. It wasn’t without its lumps but she did what she said she’d do AND didn’t take out any ringside hecklers. Actually, she might have started converting some of them. Win, and get the crowd with her. Like the ringside announcer said, it was a quick turnaround for our Lil Dragon.

Compact, but nice. Good to see the Maxwell / Sun dialogue, but I’m sorta confused by panel 2. Is that Maxwell imagining what he’d do, or flashing back to something he’d done, or Sun imagining what he’d do? Sad that there’s only one more page for our savage Dragon (Sorry!), but glad she’s gotten this far.
I’m confused about panel 2 as well.
Good to see Sun not only get her game back, but get her heat back as well. As much as she hates fans, They can still give you energy.

Great! Drama! This is what I’ve been talking about, for a long time.. Lose, then come back strong.
Sun dominates the ring now. Panel 5-6.
Panel 5: Sun executed Kick to the knee, then top rope leg drop. now Katy executed a backbreaker on Sun followed by an Irishwhip to the turnbuckle and Katy just ramm herself onto Sun.
Panel 6: Sun resisted the pain executed a tornado DDT on Katy. Katy stands up and clothesline Sun to the outside. Katy charges towards to Sun, but Sun countered it with a drop toe hold, in which Katy hits the barricade. Sun quickly rolled Katy back into the ring, then Sun climbs the top tunrnbuckle and executed the atomic fusion on Katy. 1…2..3.. ding ding ding!! Â
Katy Canuck is a big mean bitch, I can see where Sun would have trouble with her, but I guess Sun stepped it up for the rematch. Visually this is the best of the flashback pages so far, those last two panels are pretty impressive.

I’m not usually a fan of this back-story stuff but I enjoyed this one. One thing though, I know Sun is tough an all, but would she really beat a 200 pounder like Katy?
Anyhow, thank god Katy didnt just sit on Sun LOL.. that would have been a short career for the Ninja 🙂
I loved the page overall. Panel 2 had me scratching my head, though the art was great. The finger joke tied up things nicely for me. And the action panels were right on! It was good to see Sun using her head and fighting her game! Sun kinda made her mark in this match. Not just all over Katy’s fat bod either LoL
Good page! I love the action and drama. We didnt see yet the end of that fight…I wish to see that in the entire next page, with big detailled panels :P.
Hey everyone! The 2nd panel IS supposed to be Tommy Maxwell imagining what he’d do in Sun’s place. Basically, he empathizes with her, even if he can’t come out and say so. And one little teeny, tiny tidbit: The picture in the third panel on the wall is of the four guys responsible for training the Upstart Girls. Kyle Pallas, Tommy ‘Nomad’ Maxwell, Kid Xtreme and Hazzard. Seems these four guys are the original ‘Upstarts.’ 😉 In Sun’s case, she got schooled by two of them.
LOL Darkmark! Savage Dragon indeed! Ironically, I just picked up the first trade a month ago. XD Yeah, only one more page, but I hope to revisit her backstory again in the future.
Zodo, that was a pretty good line by Maxwell, eh? 🙂 As we’ve seen Sun do in the present, she will celebrate loudly after a win in a match, but she doesn’t necessarily seek out the adoration. I guess you could say that she eats it up when it presents itself.
MGC, that is a masterful recap of what happened on this page. Also glad you liked the dramatic premise. MGC, not to spoil anything, but I have a feeling you’ll have a lot to say about next update. 😉

Hey Matt! When it comes to mismatches, I like pointing out guys like Bret Hart or Macho Man, or even Ric Flair as undersized guys that have beaten some big monsters in their time. Katy sitting on Sun would’ve been a game changer, for sure. XD

Every few panels, Sun’s hair changes color. Is it a dark brown? Black-brown? Black-blue? I’m really confused! xD
MGC, yeah they were a stable. They got along with each other for the most part, but they had no eartly business being together as far as their individual attitudes go. You’ll find out who Kid X and Hazzard taught, but Page 147 is still accurate. 😉

Hey Han! Ha ha. Shhhh! I have three shades of brown that I use for Sun. One for shadows, mid-tones and highlights. On this page, its just highlights. Question for you! Do you like the brown hair on Sun, or the blue highlights?
Now she’s getting back into it. We’re seeing what happens when a “wild child” gets put on the straight and narrow. When she turns into her 30s, she’ll be just as street wise and mature yet crackin’ the quips like the ones who taught her originally..
Hmmmm. That’s tough. I like the way the brown looks better, but knowing plenty of azn friends, the blue is a bit more accurate to nearly all of them. P:Â
