Page 148 – Leaving
Lot of different emotions on this page. Anger, frustration, sadness…its not easy being a rookie wrestler. Brooke finishes off her emo diatribe though for the most part, it didn’t really get over with the rest of her roommates. Especially Sun! She’s pretty angry right now and probably more so because Sabrina isn’t pounding Brooke’s head in. Krystin’s trying to keep the peace and she’s been more friendly as of late. One would say since the match with the Catgirls. And then Sabrina doing the only thing she feels she can do. You can’t blame her for not wanting to be around someone like Brooke. However, as Krystin once said way back on Page 12 , there’s no moving out of the Rookie House until management says so. Sabrina’s decision to leave might have some serious consequences on her and the rest of the rookies.
On an artistic note, them damn toes were hard to draw! XD
I’ll give her this, Sun has a way with words. Bustin’ your head ’til the white meat. I’ve got to remembber that one. 😀
I do wonder where Sabrina is going to go? Is she going to be smart and talk to management about moving out, or is she being a fool and thinking she can just walk out. How long is Sun going to rant? Will she stop in time for Krystin to maybe catch up to Sabrina and allow cooler heads to prevail?
Better yet, is the wily Sun going to ‘calm down’ enough to ‘go for a walk’ so she can cool down, let Krystin see her leave too so that the Definition of Technician will chase after Sabrina and then Brooke gets Ninja’d!
One additional note, I love the touches of shadow and the eyes in Panel 2. Brooke looks like she’s already been beaten really. And worse than physically.
I think start with this episode. there’s a few minutes of gap, in whcih we didn’t see in this comics.. last episode.. Sun asked Krystin “what’s a blumpkin?” Krystin replied “Google it.” I think, Sun quickly got to her laptop and research it and found out.. now going back to this episode, Look at Sun at panel 1.. she’s furious..
Panel 1: frickin Brooke and her emo-drama… blame “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini.. Brooke has no sense of self-pride, she would either quit or destroy “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini already.. she would even destroy “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini… she don’t have the got… WHERE’S THE BROOKE .. we’ve know on episode 38,39,42,50,53… The Brooke who almost destroy “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini..

Panel 3: Sun really angry now and Sun really like to “white meat” Brooke since episode 117.. that’s why my only favorite upstart girl “SHINOBI” “LIL DRAGON” SUN WONG.. she’s not afraid of bustin her opponent, not like “goody-good Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini.. looking at panel 3.. why is Brooke scared of Sun.. Sun got destroy at the hands of Brooke before.. episode 44,46,58.. now why is Brooke scared of Sun..
Panel 5: hahahahh…. “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini leaving… is this means that “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini quits. hahahha…♫ NA NA NA NA.. NA NA NA NA HEY HEY EY!! GOODBYE!! ♪♪
I wonder if Sun going to stop Sabrina from leaving the apartment.. and I have to ask, Sabrina leaving, she didn’t pack up her things and leave.. odd right? I think she is leaving in which she’ll stay out for a night…

I kinda felt.. that “GoDDess” Brooke Lennox, learn many stuff in Los Angeles, maybe learned acting.. looking here, in which “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini leaving.. if this was a game.. that means, “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini surrendered and giving Brooke the win…
Brooke won every dirty thricks against Sabrina.. first the episode 74-75.. in which Brooke good Vincent’s attention more.. second is episode 139.. in which Brooke got the last word.. here, even though Sabrina got the last word, but she’s leaving.. looking up the situation, Brooke kinda played Sabrina..Â
Brooke’s acting part really destroy Sabrina.. if Brooke is planning of Sabrina leaving..I think it work…

This might be one of those things like in “A League of their Own” where the star says she’s gonna leave, so Management boots the problem. I guess I’ll just have to wait until Wednesday! Oh – and I had a ton of fun grossing my friends out over the weekend with my newfound knoweldge of what Blumpkin means.
Hey Salazen, glad you liked what I did with the page! I can tell you that Sabrina’s pretty much just winging it right now, but I’m sure she’ll come up with a plan. Sun’s only begun to rant! 😛 She’s a feisty one and pretty upset at the turn of events. Should make for an interesting Wednesday update!
O_o MGC. You think Brooke is acting? I don’t think I can help you. I figured you’d be happy with Sabrina leaving, but how are you going to see more of Sun if Gabrielle scraps all of the rookies over this? And glad to see you test the limits of how far you can carry the Na Na Na joke before it gets super annoying.
LOL Coyote Lovely! Glad to hear you were able to use the ‘blumpkin’ reference! XD Will Sabrina go to Gabrielle to have the problem fixed? I think we all know that Sabrina has some pull with the boss, but Sabrina seems unwilling to go and get Brooke out and out fired so it remains to be seen what she’ll do. But we’ll know some more on Wednesday!

Waaaaaa!! just for “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini, leaving she’ll scrap everyone of the upstart girls.. including my Favorite upstart girl, “Shinobi” “Lil Dragon” Sun Wong. it’s very harsh punishment.. this ain’t school.. if the student makes noises, the teacher will punish everbody including the once who are innocennt..  this is already business.
and scrapping “Shinobi” “Lil Dragon” Sun Wong is bad for business… the best upstart girl in the business.. So I don’t think she’ll be scrapping Sun..
I really forgot about this… Krystin is prevent Sun’s attack Brooke.. I think Krystin is protecting Brooke.. as we see, Brooke and Krystin are friends. maybe preventing Sun Ninja’d Brooke.
I think the toes in panel 3 look great. I like Brooke’s expression in that panel, too.
Forgive my ignorance, but why is Sun so mad at Brooke? Yeah, Sun has the “evil bitch” part right, but why would she risk getting kicked out when Brooke and Sabrina haven’t even come to blows (note: not a reference to Brooke…)? Besides, if Sun was kicked out, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy watching her and Sabrina duke it out in the TV tournament.Â
One last question: will Sabrina be visiting Vincent in the hospital?
Jamie, you have the ultimate solution there. Actually, I’m not sure why I didn’t go that route. I must be slipping.

GhostEraser, a Sun vs Sabrina match would be excellent in the TV tournament but its not in the cards as Sun isn’t in the TV tournament. Sun is so incensed because her and Sabrina are BFF’s and Sun’s even more mad because Sabrina hasn’t started landing blows to Brooke but not in a critical way, in a protective way. Plus, Brooke called Sun ‘A-cup,’ before. 😛 As to Sabrina visiting Vincent in the hospital…LOL! No, but I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of Vincnet. 😉
By the way, that article on ‘Living in the Moment,’ is totally sad.
As usual, disagreement in the ranks. And, as usual it’s the same pair.
This is the same Brooke we’ve always had. It’s just she’s been exposed. She’s flashy. She’s over the top. She’s -HOLLOW-. There’s nothing to the ‘old’ Brooke but that flash. If you get pask Boobs and Bragging, there was nothing. This is what’s been under that the whole time. This is what she’s been hiding with bragging and posturing all this time.
Why is she scared of Sun? Because Sun earned her spot and Brooke didn’t. Yeah, Brooke got one over earlier, but since we’re playing -my- favorite game of going back for support of points, let’s lo0k at the Rookie Rumble together.

Okay… lets pretend we did and look at the RA Forum for the details of it. It was getting WAY long to put here. Yes, there are times that Brooke looked good, but often she didn’t seem to live up to the potential of her bragging, where Sun was -always- exactly what she’s claimed. Fast, sneaky, and ready to do what she has to to win. Brooke wore down faster and never was the force she should have been in that type match. They should have needed to work together for some time to put her down and it never really happened.

Largely agreed with Salazen (again, LOL!) I really have to wonder how it can be interpreted that Brooke came out looking better here — she’s all but admitted that she didn’t have the self-confidence to make it on her own merits. That said, it IS true that wrestling is often a gruelling, unforgiving business and people who deserve pushes don’t always get them. I don’t think Brooke is one of those, however. She fancies herself to be much more clever than she’s actually demonstrated to be. She was pretty cowed by angry!Sabrina. She’s been flip and overconfident more than once, and it’s cost her. Even that ‘last word’ bit came off more as Sabrina didn’t want to bother arguing against such a lame shot.
As much as Sabrina might want to leave, I don’t think it’s going to be so easy. She sure as hell isn’t quitting, and Gabrielle isn’t likely to allow that at the drop of a hat. She’s investing time and money on the Ultragirl, and is seeing returns on it (they’ve commented several times that the crowd pops big for her and she sells a lot of merchandise). She’s not going to let that slip through her fingers. Right now, Brooke seems MUCH more expendible in her eyes, I’d think. I do think that things have come to a head, and that the status quo will need to change based on what’s happened here.
Or maybe not. Gabrielle may well be one of those who believes that people at each other’s throats is a good motivator. LOL!
Since I don’t have constant access to internet, this is only the second page of your comic I’ve read,and I still don’t really know much about it. Once I can have more than a few hours online a day, I’ll check back through some of your archives. =) But I wanted to say “nice job” on all othe overhead shot. It takes a lot of guts to keep doing those, especially for such a large group. =D
Adon, you and Salazen usually have a good nose for what’s happening story-wise so its always cool reading your guys’ thoughts and comments. Â I think the best Brooke can hope for is some sympathy and as mad as Sabrina is, she almost feels too sorry for her to punch her out. Â Of course things can change. 😛 Â And as for Gabrielle’s motivations you’re right on both numbers! Â She knew what she was getting when she put these four together and knows what can happen. Â That being said, the status quo will have to change a little bit. Â Think of it as evolution (no pun intended whatsoever).
