This is one of those matches that would be more fun to talk about later than to watch. Sickening.
Regarding the VI: I hope that’s for Vince.
In her place, I’d be tempted, but bad things come to those who attack referees, (even ones that are s****!) so maybe the thought is that if this ref is determined to cheat her out of her title shot, she might as well knock some bodies down on her way out.
Then again, if she’s still focused on winning the title tonight, maybe clatter the “ref”, THEN clatter Sabrina, and try to put her down by the time a replacement ref comes out and score the victory that way?
Would she be punished for attacking a referee who isn’t even employed by them at the moment? I see no backlash for caving his head in.
It’s the principle of the thing. Referees have to be able to tell a bunch of professional fighters to back off or suffer the consequences. Even an obviously bent bloke like Vince here can’t be an exception or every ref could be in danger, which’d lead to a lack of confidence in their ability to officiate impartially.
And to the obvious point that Vince isn’t impartial, he’ll suffer the consequence when he gets tossed out the door again and ends up writing the name “Kelly” on my latte.
He could accidentally get hit by the chair. I’m sure Kat would be suitably distraught at having been so clumsy, but everybody else would be pretty happy about it!
Either Vince is delusional in thinking this will put him in Sabrina’s good side (considering that Sabrina herself is pointing out when Kat is in the ropes while pinned), or he’s doing this to screw with her as much as he is with Kat. Think of it, Sabrina wins where the referee is very blatantly biased, it is automatically tainted. Considering that Sabrina has built a (deserved) rep for being a die-hard babyface, to have even some people doubt that will hurt her worse than losing a match would.
Sometimes I need to remind myself to apply wrestler!logic to things. Namely, everyone onscreen in wrestling is easily offended to the point of violence, are often gullible to the point of stupidity. Hot blooded is the key.
Now, if I were Gabby, I would have a replacement ref sent out ASAP. Buuut… Gabby’s mind works in mysterious ways at times.
Well hopefully Kat realizes that Sabrina is just as upset about it as she is even if it is to her advantage.
Yeah hopefully. But that doesn’t weigh much in balance. Not in the heat of the moment. And Kat’s hot for sure.
The VI wasn’t up when I posted initially. But I should have seen her going for something behind the apron. She’s have a stash “just in case” anyway, but it would have been earmarked for Brina. And after the chair shot on the ref there’s nothing to keep the rest of the gang from coming back out. This could be a real mess!
I’m smelling a setup…. seeing the VI, and I’m thinking that Kat’s gonna make like she’ll hit the ref, instead hits Sabrina and the ref ‘somehow’ misses it. Kat pins, Vince’s allegiance cleared (because hey, a crooked ref is *supposed* to be in a heel’s pocket). All of the favoritism towards Sabrina was staged to set up for this, so Sabrina totally wouldn’t see it coming.
That’s what my veteran wrestling fan instincts are telling me, anyway.
Looking at the VI, Kat definitely isn’t walking out TV Champion. Michael wants her to lose, he wouldn’t have found a referee that is so blatantly against her.
Seems so. Never underestimate a Kat.

I think that’s why Sabrina hasn’t Ultrakicked Vince (yet) because she thinks he’s still got some good, misplaced intentions. Kat isn’t so understanding.
I’m pretty sure in Sabrina’s place I would have hit Vince by now.

Honestly I don’t feel bad for Kat at all she blatantly cheats constantly, she can’t win without it so this is just her getting her just deserts.
I don’t feel sorry for Kat, not even the slightest bit (can’t imagine why, hmmm), I feel angry for ‘Brina!
I know this isn’t how Sabrina wants to win her first (or any) Title, I would have been spitting kittens if this travesty was going down at FAWNmania *nod*

as for the VI- i think we missed Kat already pulling a first chair out so she can hand one to sabrina and then they give him a con-chair-to in the hopes that whoever gabby sends running in from the back can actually do what they’re supposed to be doing.
Yay, at panel 3! I was actually channeling a WCW match where Macho Man was referee and did the same thing with his finger and asked if they wanted to give it up.
Vince makes it all look easy. Man, it’s been a long time since we saw a con-chair-to in Rival Angels.
So it looks like at least twice Kat should have won. Gee Sabby all that time in Japan and you’d still lose.
I don’t believe that’s really fair to say being as ‘Brina clearly isn’t in the right frame of mind. We don’t know what was happening in the lead up to pin or submission attempt, the roll up could have come about whilst she was trying to set the Official straight, which she shouldn’t have to be doing.
And that’s twice that Kat ‘could’ have won, we’ll never know if ‘Brina girl would have kicked out and she didn’t submit, there is nothing to say she would have done. If I remembers correctly, she didn’t tap out when BW tried the same thing…
