Well then…just about everyone seems pretty happy with the current developments. Just like we asked with Sabrina and Yvonne, what does this mean for Krystin’s future?
Updates
It’s been a crazy few last months. I recently got a new job after being unemployed since spring and moved to a new city! Only 4 days in to the new city, and it’s great, but this is only the third place I’ve ever lived so there’s still some adjustment going on. My new co-workers are very cool and the guy who hired me loves Rival Angels. O_o Rival Angels isn’t in any danger of missing any updates (I’m 4 weeks ahead) but I might take off of updating between Christmas and New Year’s. Just sayin.

Why Yvonne? Why Don’t someone new get a title shot. Like Brooke, Sun, Krystin, or others. Yvonne got one and lost, give another a shot. But that’s me.
That was quite a while back, and Yvonne stays relevant to the title picture. Brooke, Sun, Krystin, etc are not yet relevant to the major championship picture. Yvonne’s managed to get herself another shot over the many months since her last title match that we know of. It has been known to happen.
I have to disagree with you on some people. Sun is DI’s MVP & was last seen with Gabby thus possibly boosting her up in the rankings. Also, Krystin is the real TV champion and could possible go against Brenda in a champion vs champion match or still a match with Rua since Krystin didn’t lose her title at all. Besides, we need new faces as challengers for the title, not the same old Orton vs Cena stuff.
There is no indication that Yvonne vs Rua is as done-to-death as Cena vs Orton. Just that it’s happened before. There are plenty of ways to make it work a second time.
Champion vs Champion matches are good matches, but they’re filler. Especially if it’s a minor title vs a major title. Foregone conclusion.
Sun was seen in the company of the owner, sure, but the owner works with lots of people, and it isn’t always about the championship. Remember Krystin and her role as Gabby’s enforcer early on? Sun is great, but not THAT great yet. TV championship contention is right for her.
You’re making a lot of assumptions about the Rival Angels title picture and the story surrounding it based on WWE and its current writing staff’s abilities. Keep in mind that there used to be good multi-year recurring feuds in wrestling. Also keep in mind that this stuff is all in the background of a story that is not focused on the championship, and probably won’t be for a long time.
did she get one and lost or was that who brenda beat to get the title? or am i misremembering…or has this info ever been revealed before?

I think you did with Yvonne being champion until Brenda took it from her before Rua’s match with Widow. Still, I hope Rua REMAINS so we get NEW contenders like Heel Krystin, Sun, or Brooke to be it since this is a Rivals Angels Upstart comic.
I’m still having trouble working out who is who in these sometimes!
But that’s because school is done for the year and my brain is now refusing to work at all. Stupid brain.

Man, moments like these are never a good thing, Krystin should get out while she still can. Besides, there’s always a catch to moments like these and they never end well for anyone who’s that desperate. 🙁
Plus, considering the mess that she’s in already, once everything comes to light, Krystin may not have a future in the wrestling world anymore. 🙁

Oh dang…. Something tells me that Krystin isn’t going to like the tone of this conversation. Do you think that the boss found out about her “Unapproved medication”?
Possible, but unlikely. This is more subtle than an appropriate response to drug policy violations. I don’t see a UA cup or a burly scowling sample supervisor anywhere, so Krystin is probably not about to be suspended. Instead, Gabby appears to be playing head games, so Krystin is likely to be relevant in some way for a while.
Kinell. It seems that a lot of you have “evil Gabrielle” set firmly in your minds, presumably because she’s not allowing everyone’s favourite blonde to get away with an act of public defiance, but perhaps we can assume good faith and take a look at things at face value for a moment?
Krystin hasn’t been tv champ for long, and we’ve seen her obvious insecurity. It’s likely she hasn’t attempted to attend one of these meetings before. She doesn’t know what to expect. and What she gets is a courteous welcome, (and a bit of banter, but Gabrielle, effective manager that she is, recognises that Krystin won’t yet be comfortable with such, and quashes Snowy’s taunt right away,) and yet everyone sees hidden agendas and such.
So, what you’re saying is, if this is perfectly on the level, Gabrielle would have to be showing almost no ruthless cunning in this scene, opting instead for heaping helpings of generous empathy?
You’ve got a solid point, Callie. That does sound wildly improbable and out of character. Good call. I was worried you wouldn’t be able to keep up, what with the clues being aggressive but not the sort to mug you in broad daylight, but you’ve surprised me.
Sound analysis there, Blitzy. Everyone knows that villains occupy their time by approaching everything with “ruthless cunning”, regardless of whether or not the situation merits anything resembling such. I personally have perfected the art of seeing which blends and syrups the front of coffee houses are out of so as to force the barista to obtain such from the back, which provides the added benefit of holding up the orders of everyone behind me. SUFFER, COFFEE PLEBES!
The possibility that someone you’ve cast as the villain might instead simply be showing kindness (as she has to Sabrina more than once in the past) is of course thoroughly laughable, and as deserving of your mockery as just about everything you choose to grace with such.
See, back when I thought highly of Gabrielle’s decision-making, I still thought that her best quality was ruthless cunning. Properly applied, it can be an asset without making someone a villain.
Granted, she’s altered the mix a bit lately, heavy on the “ruthless” and subbing out “cunning” for “ego,” but still, that’s what I’d expect her to show. Not extremely sophisticated empathy, coddling an egotistical brat who clearly doesn’t even really believe that she’s earned the favor apparently on offer.
I do approve of the coffee shop trick, though. If people properly associate coffee with suffering, maybe they’ll switch to a decent beverage.
Tea is the far superior drink, but it used to be much harder to get properly in Yanklandia. I will grant that you lot have improved a lot, there, especially along the coasts.
In any event, the coffee shop example was meant to illustrate a point. However cunning (even ruthless) a person might be, they almost certainly don’t approach every situation with such, because it’s quite frankly not necessary in such a mundane dealing. If I’m somewhere I can get a proper cuppa, I’ll order that rather than your half-caf almond milk latte with non-dairy whip and a shot of butterscotch syrup because I want the bloody tea, sod the people behind me. It behooves Gabrielle to have a good working relationship with her workers*, and most especially with her champs. Could Gabrielle be trying to lure Krystin into a false sense of security, the same way she was luring her into a false sense of INsecurity before? Certainly, but isn’t it equally likely, if not moreso, that she is simply being friendly because why wouldn’t she be?
*If you’re going to object by noting the incident with Sabrina, I’ll note that “preferring a good relationship” does not equate to “willing to accept being walked on or defied without consequence”.
Coffee is the foulest thing. I can’t even deal with it. I may have to go out of my way a bit for decent tea here in the American Midwest, but that’s just what has to happen.
We’ve argued about the Sabrina incident before, and my views on that scenario are unchanged.
As for it being ‘equally likely’ that Gabrielle is being friendly with Krystin as it is she’s setting a trap, then surely you wouldn’t object to a friendly wager on that? As a gentleman, I’ll even allow you to propose terms. 😀
